Elderly people are at risk of falls and injury. It is considered to be the common health issues
in aged people. Elderly people aged 65 and above are prone to fall which may cause injury
and hospitalization in many people. People with a history of one or multiple falls are at risk
of falls and injury. The strategy to analyze the risk of falls is assessing the way of walking,
gait, and stability (Dionyssiotis 2012). Improving the quality of life by implementing
beneficial strategies is essential. Encourage the elderly people to do physical activity and
exercise which can strengthen the muscles and bones of an individual. The provision of a safe
and comfortable environment can prevent falls and injury elderly people and improves the
quality of life.
Question 2
In the era of technologies, fall and injury of elderly people can be prevented by implementing
the technological intervention. Fall prevention and prediction system are newly invented
technology that can help elderly people in predicting the causative factors in the environment
(Rajagopalan, Litvan, and Jung 2017). It is the wearable sensor which analysis the
surrounding for any cause for fall and injury. The sensor measures feature like gait, body
posture, physical condition and stability which can cause fall. Recent research on the newly
invented fall prevention and prediction system was tested with elders who live alone in a
different environment. The trail was done for three months and found that the technology was
effective and efficient. Fall prevention and prediction system is the invention that can be
implemented to prevent the problematic factor of falls.
