AI Summary
This report provides a comprehensive overview of arteriosclerosis, a condition where arteries thicken and harden, restricting blood flow. It begins by defining aetiology and then explains arteriosclerosis, detailing its stages and causes such as high cholesterol, diet, and aging. The report explores various...

INTRODUCTION
It is necessary for people to improve their lifestyle so that they remain healthy and fit. In present times, there are various types of health
problems which people are facing. It is because people are not aware about what precautions they have to take, risk of disease, healthy diet,
etc. Here, they need to understand what is Arteriosclerosis , its diagnosis and how to manage it. So, this will enable in improving their
lifestyle by which they can remain healthy and fit. Furthermore, signs and symptoms can be easily identified. Hence, people will get aware
about what are symptoms of this disease, how it can be managed, diagnosed, etc. Along with it, risk factor can be determined in effective way
and on basis of that treatment is provided to them. Hence, they need to be educated so that their lifestyle is changed.
Complications
There are several complications as well of Arteriosclerosis. It is defined as below:
Coronary artery disease. When atherosclerosis narrows the arteries close to heart, it may develop coronary artery disease, which can cause
chest pain or a heart attack.
Carotid artery disease. When atherosclerosis narrows the arteries close to brain, this may develop carotid artery disease, which can cause TIA
or stroke.
Peripheral artery disease. When atherosclerosis narrows the arteries in arms or legs, it may develop circulation problems in them called as
peripheral artery disease. This can make less sensitive to heat and cold, increasing risk of burns or frostbite.
Aneurysms. Atherosclerosis can also cause aneurysms, a serious complication that can occur anywhere in body. An aneurysm is a bulge in the
wall of your artery. In this most people with aneurysms have no symptoms.
Chronic kidney disease. Atherosclerosis can cause the arteries leading to kidneys to narrow, preventing oxygenated blood to reach. This can
affect functioning of kidney.
Signs and symptoms
There are various signs and symptoms which shows that the person is suffering from Arteriosclerosis.
These symptoms need to be determined so that accordingly effective care and treatment can be given.
Thus, the symptoms are as follows
Chest pain or angina- It is most common symptoms which occur in Arteriosclerosis. Here, person may
feel chest pain or angina which shows sign of Arteriosclerosis.
Pain in leg – it is also a symptom in which a person feel pain leg or any other part of body. This can be
due to block of artery due to which blood is not able to circulate within entire body. It also led to
difficulty in speaking as well. The arms and legs do not work properly and it impact on entire body part.
There is also difficulty in walking and movement of hands and legs.
Shortness of breath- this is a sign of Arteriosclerosis in which person may feel shortness of breath. This
can occur generally when person walk, run or exercise, etc. In this there may be signal of transient
ischemic attack that can led to stroke if not treated.
Risk factor
There are certain risk factors due to which
Arteriosclerosis can occur. The factors
adversely affect on overall body function and it
can also led to Arteriosclerosis. Thus, they are
defined as below
High blood pressure- This is a risk factor in
which high BP can damage blood vessel by
making them weak. In this cholesterol and other
substance may reduce flexibility of arteries and
veins.
High cholesterol- With high BP, high
cholesterol may also be reason of
Arteriosclerosis. The cholesterol level increases
due to change in lifestyle and eating of
unhealthy food.
Diabetes – The people suffering from type 1 or
type 2 diabetes can also suffer from coronary
heart disease.
Obesity – Similarly obesity is also a risk factor
which can led to occur in Arteriosclerosis.
Management
It is essential to manage Arteriosclerosis and
maintain balance in lifestyle so that the
disease does not occur. The ways are
Healthy diet- this is basic way to manage
Arteriosclerosis. Here, a person can change
their lifestyle and eat healthy and nutrients
diet. This will enable in reducing fat and
cholesterol in their body. Besides, eating of
healthy nutrients and protein will help in
maintaining body balance.
Regular exercise- Here, by doing regular
exercise will help in reducing stress and
proper movement of body. This also helps in
flow of oxygen to all bod parts in more
effective way. Thus, it strengthen muscle
In medical science there are many things which a person has to be aware about. It consists of various terminologies which help in
understanding medical science. However, aetiology is study of causes of disease, disorder, etc. This deals with understanding of origin of
disease and factors due to which the disease or disorder has occurred. Thus, it is in depth study and analysis of what are causes of disorder.
In recent times, there are various health problems or disease which is being faced by people. This is because of their change in lifestyle by
which they are being prone to such disease. Here, Arteriosclerosis is a common disease or health problem which people are facing. This is
because of complete change in their lifestyle. Here, there is change in their diet, physical activity, health and well being. Arteriosclerosis
occurs when the blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients from heart to the rest of body (arteries) become thick and stiff sometimes
restricting blood flow to organs and tissues. Healthy arteries are flexible and elastic, but over time, the walls in arteries can harden, a
condition commonly called hardening of the arteries. Atherosclerosis refers to the buildup of fats, cholesterol and other substances in and on
artery walls (plaque), which can restrict blood flow. The plaque can burst, triggering a blood clot. Although atherosclerosis is often
considered a heart problem, it can affect arteries anywhere in body. Atherosclerosis may be preventable and is treatable. Usually, there are 4
stages of this disease that is endothelial, lipoprotein, inflammatory and smooth muscle cap formation. Along with it, there are various cause of
Arteriosclerosis such as high cholesterol, diet, aging, etc. These all contribute in developing of this disease. Moreover, if there is change in
lifestyle of people it highly impact on their health. This is because it led to change their in their diet, physical exercise, etc. Furthermore,
change in diet can result in eating food that contains high fat, nutrients, etc. by which cholesterol can be built within human body. The
cholesterol can block supply of blood in blood vessels to other parts of body. So, this resulting in damaging of organs, tissues and arteries
Conclusion
It can be concluded that aetiology is study of causes of disease, disorder. Arteriosclerosis occurs when the blood vessels become thick
and restrict blood flow to organs and tissues. There are certain risk factors due to which Arteriosclerosis can occur that is high blood
pressure, diabetes, obesity etc. There are various signs and symptoms of Arteriosclerosis like chest pain shortness of breath, fatigue. Also,
complications are coronary artery disease carotid artery disease. The diagnosis is eating healthy diet, regular exercise etc.
