ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL EVALUATION OF PICTURE BOOKS
Book: The rainbow fish
Author: Mracus Pfister
SUMMARY
SECTION A
The story is usually written by Mracus Pfister with moral lesson with the help of such story is
that sharing makes happy. The story is usually related with the Fish with the shiny, multi-
coloured scales which named Rainbow fish. The fish is blue, green and purple and among them,
Rainbow fish is shiny silver scales which make it more beautiful. Therefore, one-day small fish
make conversation with the Rainbow fish and ask if he could have one. In term of such question,
Rainbow fish replied in the rudely manner and refuse the initiation of communication which is
initiated by the small fish. This is so rude and small fish get hurt due to such type of conversation
which is not expected by the Rainbow fish. The obsession of the Rainbow fish towards the silver
shiny scales is higher and also he did not want to share their scale with everyone. This all aspect
is usually developed the sense of self obsession and attitude which is developed by Rainbow fish
inside due to the shiny silver scales (Strasser, and Seplocha, 2007).

SECTION B
In addition, one day, blue fish used to do conversation with the Rainbow fish and share their
wish that he wants the shiny silver scale where the Rainbow fish refuse to give and due to such
behaviour, the blue fish get hurt as previous the small fish face such situation. Therefore, story
well provide the elaboration where it clearly state that the Rainbow fish have attitude due to the
shiny silver scales which make them more beautiful. The main strength of the story is that it is
well clear with the term of concept where the Rainbow fish offend when someone try to make
wish regards with shiny scale and he does not want that any fish have some beautiful scales
(Pfister, 1992). Due to such rude behaviour no one play with Rainbow fish and he became alone.
Therefore, the octopus gave advice to the Rainbow fish that they share their scale with other and
they become friend.
SECTION C
In my context, the story is well focused on the aspect which help to deliver the context which
show the impact that provide the aspect that sharing is helpful for the getting love and so on.
With such context, Rainbow fish share their scale with another fish which include small fish and
blue fish make the situation happier and everyone play with the Rainbow fish. Therefore, the
story clearly states the sharing the best way to make other happy. Therefore, no one wants to play
with Rainbow fish due to their behaviour which is rude and after sharing of scales with the other
make the situation happy. So, the moral of the story is focus on the exploration which is related
with the sharing make us happy that is determine in story.
