INTRODUCTION
The presentation will have focus on the post operative pain duty
of nurses. Purpose of presentation is to identify whether
post-operative pain duty of nurses is effective in taking care
of patients or not. The presentation will include:
 Major issues faced by nursing staff while delivering their
services
 Literature supporting issues
 Realistic recommendation for improvement

Current issues in Post-operative pain
There are various issues faced by post operative nurses and
patients these are:
 Pain relief after surgery.
 Change in culture
 Lack of effective communication
 Inadequate management and assessment

Literature supporting issues
There are two literature that has supported this issues:
 The report of US National Institute of Heath care
 Questionnaire framed by Strategic and Clinical Quality
indicator in Post operative pain management.

Recommendation for Improvement
Several tools are available and can also be used as a framework
for this assessment. This is bifurcated into two categories
