INTRODUCTION Basic morale of academic community which includes teachers, students, researchers and other members is called academic integrity. Honesty fairness, trust etc. is depicted in the concept of academic integrity which shows how each member should act accordingly to avoid any misconduct(Gottardello and Karabag, 2022). The following report will be formulating a game which teaches the students the concept of academic integrity and to avoid plagiarism. This will include the instructions to play the game and other necessary element to consider the wining party. Importance of this concept will be a part of the report which will guide the students towards fair academic practices. Task 1 Name of the game- Rat attack Scenario A library containing academic materials such as books, journals, novels, autobiographies etc. is attacked by the rat of academic misconduct which are destroying its integrity. Participants of the game are asked to get rid of the rats and clear the library which means to maintain the academic integrity. The students are expected to capture the rats by answering the questions correctly. How to play the game? This game has to be played individually by the students and not in groups or teams. The rats are hidden in different parts of the library(Chankova, 2020). Every individual will have 4 minutes in which they will be required to find the rats by tapping on different areas. If right area is tapped, then a question will arise from that part which will be in the MCQ format. Player will have to choose from the 3 given options. If answered correctly, then the rat will get trapped in the player net and each rat will be counted as 5 points. on the other hand, if the player fails to answer the question correctly then no minus marking will be done but the rat will disappear from that part and the player will need to find another one. At a time only 5 students can participate in the game and room will consist total 8 rats. Three rounds will be conducted for every group. Sum total of the points will be dome after the third round which will determine the winner of the game.
Aim of the game The game “RAT ATTACK” is designed to teach the students the value of academic integrity. This game depicts how the academic misconduct is affecting the values academics and misleading the students towards false attempts. The rat in the game is symbolized as the misconduct and library is depicted as the academic integrity. The questions asked in the game will teach the students various aspects of academic life and how it is affected by false activities like plagiarism. Task 2 Instructions For playing the game consistently several instructions are given below: 5 players can play the game at a time. Each group of 5 players will need to play 3 rounds. Rats can be discovered by tapping on different areas. To capture the tracked rate, player has to answer a question which will be in the MCQ format. Each rat collected will be counted as 5 points. Questions will differ in every round. No minus marking if failed to answer correctly. Total score of each player will counted at the end of third round Player who has captured highest amount of rat will be declared winner. Importance of academic integrity Academic integrity refers to the ethics and morals in context with the academics which maintains its authenticity(Christensen Hughes, 2022). it is essential to follow the ethics by every individual of the academic community. It maintains the honesty of the academic premises which is reflected through work being done. The work can be trusted if it contains academic integrity and is not followed by any misconduct.Academic integrity is important because it keeps a truthfulness among the teachers and students. Academic integrity provides opportunity for advancement in career by enhancing the knowledge and skillset of an individual. Academic integrity preserves the work done by an individual and if it used by someone then the credits has to be mentioned accordingly. Analysis of skills required in designing of the game I have developed this game by using my certain skills and I learnt many new skills as well after accomplishing this project. Creativity is the major skill that was needed to make an effective game on academic integrity(Bretag, 2018). In every part of the project I have used the best of my creativity and designed this fantastic game which reflects the right actions to maintain academic integrityin every part of the project. Using my creativity, I came to an idea of the concept of rat attack which refers to the false activities. This creativity in me is more enhanced after developing this game. I have used to make the game less boring so that students can play and learn from it without getting retarded. I have faced many problems while making the game which acted as a barrier to create an effective project. Problem solving skill in me helped me to tackle these barriers with courage so that the game can be developed effectively and efficiently. While preparing this project I was not able to divide different task in accordance with time but eventually this project taught me how to do so. This time management skill in me is very beneficial in every aspect of my personal and professional life. Presentation skills along with creativity has helped in making such attractive layout for the game which can attract the interest of students to play and learn from it. This skill is successfully used to produce a template for the
game which shows its ability to give joy and knowledge. This game is designed in such a way that the player with enjoy it along with enhancing their knowledge in regards with academic integrity. I have a smooth hand on computer software which was being used to create this game. this skill helped me to formulate the game easily without getting tension of it. To demonstrate the game in easy and professional language, my skills of writing played a vital role (Sotiriadou and et.al., 2020). I was able to describe the game thoroughly by this skill which has focused on producing the best game which is understood by every player. This skill has helped to mention every aspect of the game so that the players don’t misunderstood any part of the game. for providing accurate knowledge of academic integrity thorough researching was needed to be done. I used my researching skills to acknowledge every aspect of the concept. I used valid sources for researching and formulated the questions accordingly. CONCLUSION The above report has highlighted various aspect of the game that is being designed to depict the concept of academic integrity. name of the game has been given as rat attack which depicts the academic misconduct and false practices as rat. Scenario of the game has shown how academic integrity is harmed by false activities by demonstrating it as a library which is being attacked and harmed by these practices. Instruction to play the game has been discussed thoroughly so that the layers can play the game correctly without getting confused. Further on, importance of academic integrity has been discussed which has stated facts about the ethics and Morales of the integrity. final part of the report has mentioned the set of skills that isb being used or developed while preparing the game.
