2MANAGEMENT
 Give 2 examples from your own life when you used a reactive response, and then
describe a proactive response that might have changed the outcome.
Reactive response is when people react to situations and events as and when they occur.
However they so not take any proper initiative to ring the right or the desired outcome. One
instance was when I was doing an intern ship in one of the food and beverage company. The
company launched a new baby food that was initially well accepted by people. The company was
using a reactive response as they waited for the customers to come forward if they had any kinds
of problems. The company knew that some nutrients were missing in the product than what was
mentioned at the packet. Thus, the people must come forward with their problems. However this
was bad as the company must have kept the proactive response. They must have called back all
those faulty products. The customers were really very angry and majority off them switched over
to other alternatives.
Proactive response is when one stays prepared for any unforeseen events that might take place in
future. They are always ready for each and every kind of emergencies. They are apt to respond
and also come up with proper solutions. The company must have taken a proactive response. The
company must have realized that it was their fault and called back the products. They should
have made sure to contact and also apologize from each and every customer. This would have
helped them to create a good will among the customers.
The other instance was when I visited my father’s clinic. I saw that there were doctors who
prescribed medicines to patients and waited to see if they are coming forward with any
complaints. However this approach is not right. This is the reactive response. The hospital and

the doctors must have taken the proactive approach by contacting with their patients properly and
calling back all kinds of uncertain and faulty medicines. This would have made the patients
happy and loyal

beginning with the end in mind” Refers to the approach where people move forward by
keeping in mind the unforeseen result or any kinds of negative outcomes that might crop up.
Currently I have joined a new company as a leader. In order to maintain my team properly, I
will have to work over my communication skills and my decision making skills as well. Thus,
the habit that I need to inculcate is taking regular mediation classes that will help me to develop a
calm and organized mind.
My values are honest, hard work, dedication and empathy.
Professional role-team leader
Community role-helping the poverty stricken and needy people
Personal role-Helping my family and friends through thick and thin
