MAIN BODY
Strategy from apes to evolution artificial intelligence and war
This book has basically explained that strategy has mainly evolved initially as the
expression of the human evolution and then along with raising variation as well as complexity in
response to the cultural evolution. High cultural variety within strategic behaviour is generally
the function of evolved disposition to form the cultures (Payne, 2018). The another and different
commonplace analogy is mainly between art as well as strategy. Both the activities were mainly
unleashed by cognitive explosion. This analogy along with art is highly worth as these tow
activities generally draw upon the similar cognitive abilities and thus includes imagination as
well as improvisation. It is basically cliché to think of the war as an art which has been described
by Sun Tzu and Myriad successor theories in The art of war. Just like the art, strategy mainly
evolved within humans as answer to the specific problem which is how to carry out lives of the
intense sociability. Within both the cases, group as well as search for the meaning mainly
underpinned the development. There is great and remarkable relation between the human
evolution as well as strategic behaviour of humans. The liberal social world generally seems to
belong from world inhabited by hunter-gatherers of early human history. At deep foundation
level, instincts which are selected over the millennia continue to encourage and motivate the
behaviour of human beings. The Artificial intelligence which mainly operates upon non-
biological hardware might not share the dispositions (Meinhart, 2018).
Thinking about strategic culture
There are range of theoretical as well as methodological issues which are present within
the strategic culture. In spite of the growing profile within international relation as well as
security studies, the strategic culture remains undertheorized. Most of the empirical work upon
strategic culture has been hindered by lack of the methodological rigor. There are various works
within literature review which basically explains explanatory power of the strategic culture along
with fe work hewing to the extreme determinism. The other authors imply that the strategic
culture does not have effect on the behaviour. There is a great confusion as what strategic culture
aims to explain and how it explained. Within the policy terms, notion of the strategic culture
generally leaves possibility that the strategic preferences as well as state interests are highly
amenable to the purposive change than structural realists might assume. The in-depth analysis
and assessment of the strategic culture can assist the policymakers for establishing accurate as

well as empathetic understanding and knowledge of how various actors perceive game which is
being played as well as different information issues within strategic choice. If done badly,
analysis and assessment of the strategic culture can reinforce the stereotypes about strategic
predisposition of states. Care for using the strategic culture as analytical tool and framework is
highly important in order to develop effectiveness (Glenn, 2018).
