What is ‘crisis intervention’?
In regard to crisis intervention, it can be said that it refers a short term management
technique that is being designed to decrease permanent damages that may happen with people by
crisis Zgueb & et.al., (2020). Crisis in personal lives of people such as: passing of loved one,
divorce, illness and violence have numbers of negative impacts on people mentally and
physically. This short term management technique that is known as crisis intervention help
people from get rid of all problems and negative impacts.
Identification of four (4) different situations which would be referred to as a crisis. Provide a
definition for each one.
There are numbers of examples or situations that can be considered as crisis in people’s lives
such as:
Family disruption: It includes situations that have some negative impacts on people such as:
violence, loss of loved ones, divorce and others.
Natural disasters: It includes those entire situations that cannot be controlled by people such as
flood, earthquake and others. All these situations also affect people financially, physically and
mentally.
Economic changes: It includes all those events and situation where people get affected
financially such as loss of job, theft, increasing medical bills and others. All these crisis have
negative impacts on people Asmolov, (2020).
Community resources: Lack of food, housing and other basic resources can also have negative
impacts and it can also be considered as crisis.
