What is ‘crisis intervention’?
In regard to crisis intervention, it can be said that it refers a short term management
technique that is being designed to decrease permanent damages that may happen with people by
crisis Zgueb & et.al., (2020). Crisis in personal lives of people such as: passing of loved one,
divorce, illness and violence have numbers of negative impacts on people mentally and
physically. This short term management technique that is known as crisis intervention help
people from get rid of all problems and negative impacts.
Identification of four (4) different situations which would be referred to as a crisis. Provide a
definition for each one.
There are numbers of examples or situations that can be considered as crisis in people’s lives
such as:
Family disruption: It includes situations that have some negative impacts on people such as:
violence, loss of loved ones, divorce and others.
Natural disasters: It includes those entire situations that cannot be controlled by people such as
flood, earthquake and others. All these situations also affect people financially, physically and
mentally.
Economic changes: It includes all those events and situation where people get affected
financially such as loss of job, theft, increasing medical bills and others. All these crisis have
negative impacts on people Asmolov, (2020).
Community resources: Lack of food, housing and other basic resources can also have negative
impacts and it can also be considered as crisis.

There are some situations and indicators that lead safety issues or problems such as: lack of
safety tools at workplace, lack of engagement and hazardous conditions. There are 3 main
indicators that can lead a good safety culture such as:

Safety values: Companies that have effective safety culture is more likely to improve
health of its workers and have fewer cases of safety issues.
High level of hazard reporting: An effective reporting method and techniques also help
in reducing safety issues.
Engagement: An improved relation and engagement also decrease safety issues.

Indirect indicators such as: aggressive and negative behaviours of employees and people,
weather changes and others.

Some questions that can help me out in solving problems and knowing more about safety issues
such as:
 What is the worst possible thing that could go wrong?
 What is the main root cause of hazard?
 What are the protective facilities and equipments to reduce all these safety issues?

 While dealing with safety issues some questions will help me out if I ask the client such

A structured listening that allows people to improve and develop relationship with others with a
stronger understanding of what is being conveyed is known as empathic listening. For example:
If one team member ask her team leader that she want to quit the team then team leader shows
concern and ask what happen and if there is something that she can help then it is known as
empathic listening Yang & et.al., (2017). It plays a vital role as it prevents people from conflicts
that happen because of miscommunication and misunderstanding.

An empathic listener who listens carefully wants people and requires me to make him/her
understand and clarify about all problems and information Manusov & et.al., (2020).
Communication can be done successfully when both information provider and listener
understand each other so, it is important for both people to understand feelings and making
communication clear and concise.

There are some easy steps that can help us out in solving and dealing with crisis such as:
 Tuning in your own body by taking a deep breath or by focusing our attention on the
feeling.
 Focusing on only good feelings that can make us positive rather being negative. It is a
tendency as at the time of crisis, people watch negative scene and listen sad stories that
made them sad so, it is important to being positive and focusing on watching positive
side.
 Making physical contacts or communicating with people who can understand and have an
empathic listening ability Wamsler, (2018).
 Connecting with nature as walking in grass, doing physical exercise in open and natural
air as natural things are the best preventive technique.
 Imagining someone who can give us positive vibes and watching stories of people who
have suffered but become successful.

There are some factors and situations that need to considered while affirming and strengthening
links with safety living such as:
 Focusing on interesting hobbies that boost our morale. By focusing and imagining about
positive things and hobbies can help us out in living a healthy life.

 Engaging ourselves into social activities or people who boost our morale Rood & et.al.,
(2017).
 Engaging in physical activities like meditation, yoga and others.
 Playing with pet and kid as it is one of the best think that makes us positive.

Some 5 strategies that can anyone in managing crisis situations and living a healthy and peaceful
life such as:
 Having a great plan for next time such as: travelling or visiting a peaceful destination.
 Over communication is another effective technique. Being alone can push us towards
negative thoughts so by communicating with friends and family members can be better.
 Engaging in activities that make us feel pleased and peaceful such as dancing, singing,
painting and others.
 Navigating such as: coursing correctly in a real time.
 Listening only what that we want to listen and making sure it pushes us towards
positivity.

People’s life is full of problems and emergencies can occur anytime but there are some
emergencies that require quick and special response strategies such as:
 Environmental hazards such as: spider and other animal bite falling branches etc.
 Natural disasters such as: fire, severe storms and others.
 Catering hazards such as: fire injuries, food poison and others Whiteside & et.al., (2020).
 Workplace hazards such as: leakage of chemicals, electrical faults and others.
 People violence like beating, bomb threats, medical conditions and others.

and knowing all about client such as: their beliefs, values, emotions, an ability to listen, reactive

Companies of all sectors develop some safety and other policies that should be followed by all
people. The main reason of developing safety and other policies like wearing PPE kit and others
is to prevent people against dangers and accidents. Workplace ethics makes able to management
in treating all employees in equal and fair manner. Complying with laws and working ethically
boost confidence and create an effective and peaceful environment.
