INTRODUCTION
Reflection draws relevant learning through action in order to accelerate performance. The
metrics and objectives of performance can ground and inform reflection of work group regarding
the influence of actions as well as performance it is accomplish. For reflecting on the
performance, it is necessary for an individual to reflect on own experience, learning and their
application to practice (Cavilla, 2017). Reflecting on own learning enable an individual to
develop the skills for critical thinking and enhance the future performance through analysing the
learning. This report is based on reflection on own performance which helps in understanding
and achieving effective learning outcomes. This report covers reflection on my performance in
group presentation and module and based on that, the professional and academic areas that needs
further development are discussed. At last, an action plan is prepared which includes the way of
personal and professional development in future.
MAIN BODY
Reflection on own performance in the group presentation and in the module
I am a student studied in the module named as "Preparing for success: self-development
and responsibility". I am reflecting on my own performance and learning while undertaking the
module. In the initiation of module, I was assigned by my tutor with the group presentation task
in which I needed to prepare a presentation and present it in front of class. That presentation was
about success and how it may be attained in relation to studentship. Initially, when I was
assigned with the task to give presentation, I felt nervous and don't know about how to give
presentation as this was my first presentation. Although, I needed to give presentation in group, I
felt nervous and my confidence level became low (Choi, Walters and Hoge, 2017). But then my
group members and my tutor helped me and motivate me which made me able to think about
giving the presentation. In this task, the roles and responsibilities of each member in the group
were divided equally. I was assigned with the responsibility to collect data on the topic, i.e.,
success. In studentship, the success may be attained through developing clear objectives,
planning, self-confidence, self-discipline and positive attitude.
When I started to collect data online, I faced difficulties as I have no knowledge regarding
which website or source I can use to collect data from and which source I cannot use. My tutor
taught me that while collecting data it is very much required to ensure that the website of source

Reflection on own performance in the group presentation and in the module

My group members help me and said that I need to collect data only from the sources which are
not older than five years in order to ensure accuracy in data. By their help, I was able to collect
data appropriately.
While collecting data on the topic, I learnt that success is the accomplishment of something
which an individual has been trying to do. It is the achievement of a particular action within
specified time period or within specified parameter. It can also mean completion of an objective
or reaching a particular goal. It can be accomplished within academic area, professional area or
in personal life of an individual (Janssen, and et. al., 2019). During the module, I learnt that
academic success is vital as it directly decide the optimistic outcomes of studentship. The
individuals with high level of education or good degree are most probably to get good
employment and paid high salary grade in comparison to other individuals with no academic
success. I also learnt that academic success is not only significant to get good jobs with high
salary, but also important for career growth and development in future as with high levels of
education, I will be able to tackle technological demanding occupations which every working
student will require in future. Through my self-confidence and positive attitude, success will be
attained in studentship.
While working in the group, there were many things that went well and some were not
went well. When I performed in the group, I faced difficulties in interacting with others in an
effective way because of my weak communication skills. Many times, miscommunication takes
place in the group as because of ineffective communication, I was not able to make other people
understand what I want to said and what they said to me as well. But, my group members were
very understandable in nature and support me every time when I faced difficulty. This assisted
me in completing the assigned task successfully (Kaur, Aul, and Chawla, 2015). However, I have
good team working skill which helped me in working effectively in the team and work in
cooperation and coordination with each other towards accomplishment of team goals. With the
help of my effective team working, I was able to completed my assigned work successfully and
accomplish success.

The new information that has been presented during the presentation was about success
and how an individual can gain success in his or her academic and professional life. The most
interesting thing that had happened at that time was improvement in my confidence level
(Latinjak and et. al., 2018). Initially, when I started the presentation, my confidence level was
very low but when I continue it, my confidence level increased slowly and steadily. The new
information that has been presented has increased my knowledge base and this information help
me in my growth and success in academic career as well as in professional career. The
knowledge which I gained by undertaken this module will help me in my future. It will help me

By reflecting on my own performance and learning, I feel that there are some areas which I
need to develop further in order to get success in my academic and professional career. Firstly, I
need to work upon my communication skills as I am weak in communication and due to which I
faced difficulties in interacting with others and make other people understand what I mean to
say. By improving communication skills, I will be able to interact with others in an appropriate
way and present all the information clearly and in organised way. Apart from this, my good
communication skill will help me in presenting things effectively in front of others and
developing visual representations of difficult or complex data sets (Suprayitno, and et. al., 2020).
In addition to this, I also feel that I need to work upon my research skills as well. Due to
my poor research skills, I was not able to collect data effectively during the module and faced
difficulties in identifying the authentic sources from which data can be gathered. By improving
my research skills, I will be able to search, extract, evaluate and present information which is
relevant to study topic in an effective way. Apart from this, good research skills make me able to
determine the issue appropriately, gather informational resources that assist in addressing the
issue, evaluate those for relevance and quality and come up with appropriate solution to that
particular issue (Seloraji, and Eu, 2017). In my professional career, good research skills will help
me in report writing, determining the requirement of customers, keeping an eye on competitors,

and how an individual can gain success in his or her academic and professional life. The most

presentation relies on careful and confident preparation and presentation and needs own
distinctive skill sets (Tan, Koh, and Kokkonen, 2016). Improving presentation skills will help me
in presenting the things effectively in front of others which highly contributes in my academic
success and professional growth.

Action plan can be stated as a detailed plan which outline actions that are required to reach
to outcomes. It involves sequence of steps which should be taken by me in order to successfully
