INTRODUCTION
Young people have many things which contribute in their social and historical selves. It
include their life journey, dreams, pressure, experiences etc. mentors help these people to
understand this concept in context of social structure and culture. This report further consist
SWOT analysis reflecting self and society (Uspal and et. al., 2015). It will also create an aim
related to the completion of foundation year.
TASK1
AIM
My aim to study finance and management foundation course from UK is to develop
myself professionally and to learn the management skills. In future I want to run my own
business for which I want to know deeply about the finance and management so that I will be
able to run it properly.
SELF SWOT ANALYSIS
SWOT analysis is a great tool that help a person to understand their own strength and
weaknesses which is their internal factors (Santayana, 2017). It also help individual to identify
the external opportunities and threats available in the environment. I am also using tool to
determine the same things in me and for me. I am also using it to assess myself, to compare
myself with my peers and colleague. I am planning to join the finance & management foundation
course for which I am conduction SWOT analysis on me-:
STRENGTH: Strength is something which picture a person in different way from others or as a
competitive product. These strength act as the asset to me and other people because it help me to
grab new opportunities and to perform better. One of the major strength that I have is that I am
very eager to learn new thing, this will help me in completing this foundation course. This is
because if I will eagerly learn things which will help to get what I want. Other than this I have a
strong financial background which also support me to compete my education in UK very well. It
will help to reach all the levels of knowledge as per the requirement, I can easily purchase
required books and information which is important for adding value in my understanding.
Patience is my again one of my major strength which will help me to face difficult situations
while studying my foundation course. This will help me to deal with when professors of the
university scold me for any mistakes or when I get very difficult task to perform, I will be able to

patiently tackle that situation. My all these strengths make me different from others and will help
me to achieve my aim.
WEAKNESS: Weakness is the area of person's ability which require growth and improvement.
These should be improved for achieving the personal goals or objectives and to grab all the
future opportunities. Every person have some weakness and no one is perfect. Having weakness
is not a bad thing but it is not good as well, person has to focus on it to improve it. I also have
some weaknesses in me which will affect me my foundation course and will act as the hurdle.
My major weakness is that I feel very uncomfortable speaking in front of may people or group of
people. In other words I am shy to public speaking because it make me nervous in front of so
many people (Vannini and Williams, 2016). This weakness of mine has always been the
problem for me and always will be, because this stops me from doing better or growing in my
life. Interaction and communication is a very important part of our which help in growing
personally as well as professionally. It is important for me to improve this weakness of mine
otherwise I will face problems in completing my foundation course. In these professional course
I will get may presentation assignment which I have to present in from of the whole batch but
because of my weakness I will get less scores in my communication skills.
OPPORTUNITIES: Opportunities is something which can knock a person's door anytime. It
depend on the individual how they understand it and in what way they grab it. For availing the
benefits of the opportunities, it is important for the person to analyse it fully. Opportunities also
help people to eliminate their threats (Rosenberg, 2015). Opportunities that I will get after
joining the foundation course of finance and management will be that I can improve my
weakness of poor communication in front of many people. This course will give me classes to
improve my insecurities through which I will be able to perform better. Not only this, I will get
many other opportunities in future to achieve my goals or aim. I will be able to improve my
presentation skills, management skills etc. after getting knowledge of management and finance, I
will be able to get good job opportunities and will easily pass interviews as I'll learn the way to
do it. It will help me to improve my career and will also help me to choose a correct path.
THREATS: Threat is something which is not good for the career of individual, it is important
for the person to compare itself with the other people to judge the threats. These threats can be
eliminated by grabbing the appropriate opportunities. Major threat for me while completing my
foundation course will be that my other mates will perform better than me and I will get low

scores in exams as compare to them. This will happen because there is a very cut through
competition in the studies, every other student is running for the better scores and opportunities,
which is increasing competition in the education sector (Koopman and Hakemulder, 2015).
Other than this, my weakness are also my threat because they will become hurdle of my career
advancement. It is important for me to be aware of it otherwise I will to be able to achieve my set
goals or aims. Rapid changing technologies also act as the treat for me because I take a lot of
time to understand things no matter how much eager I am to learn it. This will hinder my growth
by slowing down my performance.
SMART ACTIONS
For making the SMART action I have to make a PDP plan, it stands for personal
development plan which help in taking appropriate actions in achieving the aim of the person.
This plan is important for determining the current skills gap as compare to the required one
(Frawley and Bigby, 2015).

REFLECTION
My experience while doing this task was very good, I get to know many things about
myself. This report helped me in understanding my own strengths which is making me

TASK 2
SUMMARY
This audio is about the youth, music and London. As per this audio, there is a very
famous hip-hoper and singer who is talking about how their childhood get destroyed after he got
kicked out of one school. He said that their was no school who ready to give him admission so he
got into a school called Termosium in which poor kinds used to study (Brewer and Kerslake,
2015). They all started hating Forieng people and felt that they do not belong to them , this

school taught him some positive things and he became a hip-hopper. According to the singer
dance and music has so much to tech. He said that he had learned a lot from it and once he got
famous he started helping kinds like him. He encouraged local school kids to write their story in
a song. He took some auditions also in which he got many talented kinds.
REFLECTION
This story has touched me a lot. The best part of this story is when singer goes back to
the local school for meeting kids like him and to make their life better by hunting talent in them.
He found many fresh talent and gems in it and must have been made their life better to live.
While listening to this audio I have learned that music has so much of power in that it can
influence people to do good things and behave in a proper manner. Music can teach a lot and can
make a person's life better to live. It also bring positivity in any person. After hearing the whole
story of singer, it is suggested to them schools should respect every student and give education to
every kid no matter what cast they belong or what colour they have.
