INTRODUCTION
Reflection and academic skills are important for learning in better way . Present report
describes about importance of academic skills for completing the course in effective manner.
1 – University skills
There are some skills that are vital to be posses by individuals for learning. These skills will
help the person for performing well in academics and getting higher grades. One of the most
important skills are writing skill and it helps for writing good academic essays, articles and
examination papers (Woottipong, 2014). Reading skills aid for grasping the meaning of
information. Research skills and presentation skills needs to be effective so that information
could be presented in clear and coherent manner (Wilson, Matthews and Dworatzek, 2017).
2- Immigration
Immigration is defined as Movement of people from one nation to another. It creates
employment opportunities in UK and supports for providing better and effective living
standards to people (Favell, 2016). Some examples of Refugees from Poland and Lithuania is of
individuals who has created M&S and Burton. However, there are less migrants in England and
it is hardly noticeable. According to the present standards UK gets 4 % of the EU asylum
applicants. In addition to that Syrian government is torturing people and due to this, people are
migrating to another countries. It is required that we should support countries such as Syria and
Lebanon so that cases of immigration should reduced (Geddes and Scholten, 2016).
4 – Citations, referencing and plagiarism
It is essential that due credit should be given to authors whose work has been used while
completing the assignment or research project. Citations are done in text in which name of the
authors, year of publication are mentioned (Ganascia, Glaudes and Del Lungo, 2014).

Authoritative sources are provided by citations and it also help the reader for acknowledging the
facts and information that has been mentioned in the article. I use APA style of referencing and
it is type of citation in which name of author is mentioned. In this style of referencing last name
of author and year of publication are mentioned in text. I find the guides about referencing from
online library. Plagiarism is defined as wrongful acquiring of information and research work of
any other author. It is representing someone else's work as our own work and it is a criminal
activity performed by an individual. It is essential that due credit should be given to the source
from which material has been taken (Bartley, Albert and Liesegang, 2014). Referencing and
citation are medium for giving due recognition to the sources from where work has been taken.
5 – Synthesis of IMF
IMF is promoting monetary developments in the nations. It grants loans if a government signs
“Structural adjustment agreement” with them. Main element under it comprise of Monetary
austerity in which IMF controls the money supply of the nation. It is basically done for
stabilizing the local currency rates. Fiscal austerity is about increasing the tax collection rates
and making reductions in the government spending. In addition to that IMF also made it
mandatory for countries to make enhancements in their exports. However, there are some
positive impacts of privatization and it provides a check on the power hold by the state.
6 – Reflection
Research is important as it supports for collecting necessary data and information that are
required for completing the study. It supports the researcher for comparing the theories and
various approaches that are associated with the study. It also helps for exploring various details
about a particular topic and with the help of that meaningful insight about the subjects are
gained (House, Vines and Corden, 2016). One more benefit for performing research is that
findings of the study can be recorded in numerical and statistical form. Meaningful data and
information are gained about the selected topic. There are two types of research methods and it
can be categorized into qualitative research and quantitative research. There are primary and
secondary data sources that exist and all the sources are good to use. Online database that exist
for research includes resources that are available on online library and information available on

various websites.
7 - Reflection

Reliability and relevance: - The source of the article is online source and the source has been
found on Google. The source is reliable as proper reference for the source is available. The
article has been taken from www.google.com. The date on which the article was published is
also mentioned in the article and with these various details about the sources of article has also
been mentioned. In addition to that there are several ways that could be used for writing an
article (BITC 2015). The article on Ban the Box has been taken from the online website and in
the reference name of the website with its detailed description has been mentioned. The article
is old one and it is also relevant to the topic. The article provides all the meaningful information
about the selected topic. The source will be used by me as as it provides background
information about the relevant topic.
Purpose and point of view: -
The source has informed about the selected topic and also this source has mentioned details
about various aspects of the topics. In addition to that the article mentions about the topics Ban
and the Box. The author is not biased in reflecting his point of view and it does not affect
credibility. They do not provide two sides of the story and represents other points of view. In
this text, it is easy to make distinguished between the fact and opinions that are mentioned in
the text.

CONCLUSION
Summing up the present report it can be concluded that it is vital to have good academic
and reflective skills that are required to complete an assignment in effective manner. Plagiarism
needs to be avoided and proper referencing needs to be done so that due credit should be given to
the authors whose work has been used in the report.
