2 REFLECTION ON IS PRACTICE Introduction: In the view of developing the enterprise architecture for BlueParcel, the aim was to work in a group or a team and execute the plan according to the business requirements. In case of group works, it is always important to have significant contribution of own skills and experiences. In this project of information system, it was important to take the respective responsibilities on completing each phase of developing the enterprise architecture (Balan, Yuen and Mehrtash 2019). Therefore; it was also a learning experience while working with others and by sharing the knowledge with each other during the project. This helps in gaining the significant knowledge about the enterprise system architecture. In this report, a reflection will be provided regarding the learning experience from the group work in the project and own learn outcomes will be highlighted as well. This will be conducted by using 4R’s Reflection model. Report: Reflection on the group performance and operations: This reflection will be made by using six ISO 38500 Principles: Responsibility: In the process of developing the enterprise architecture, it was always important to take the individual responsibilities. I was given the responsibility of designing the network for the enterprise system. Similarly, other members were given the tasks according to their respective skills. It was also a responsibility of the team members to share and transfer the knowledge with each other (Aga, Noorderhaven and Vallejo 2016). This was necessary in order to ensure coordination and trust among the members of the group. Accountability in this regard is extremely essential to play the role of an IS. This helps in sharing and managing the information effectively. In case of this project, the project manager was responsible for accountability. I learnt how such responsibility is maintained with perfection. Strategy: There were a number of strategies that were implemented by our group in order to maintain the communication between us and with the CEO of BlueParcel. Cloud discussions havebeentheeffectivemethodofcommunicationthroughwhichitwaspossibleto implement the cloud services according to the requirements of the company. Along with this,
3 REFLECTION ON IS PRACTICE meetings were held between the group members as well with the CEO of the company. Strategies were made regarding the deliberation process. Acquisition: The acquisition was made with the experience on implementing the project. This means that the group members were active on communicating the result of each phase of the project. Further with the help of communication with the CEO, it was possible to learn about the requirements and thee probable outputs that were expected by the company from the project (Lee, Park and Lee 2015). The deliverables were also identified by continuous learning process through the project. Performance: The goal of the group was to involve the improving the performance of the individuals associated with the project and the overall enterprise system. In this process, performance criteria were set and thee group members gave continuous efforts for meeting with those criteria. Conformance: Throughout the project, compliances and the standards of project management were maintained. In this regard, the project manager took the responsibility for making all the members aware of the compliances which were required to be followed. The ethics on team work and project development were also maintained by all the group members with success. Humanbehaviour:Foragroupproject, theehumanbehaviourimpactsitssuccess significantly (Mueller 2015). In this project, although the behaviour of different members was different, however; a team goal and team culture was set which helped us to focus on the similar vision throughout the project. This contributed to the individual success and the success of the overall project. Relate: Own individual contribution: As a group member, I was given the responsibility to share and use my own skills for ensuring the success of the project. Due to the fact that, I was responsible for designing the network of the enterprise system, therefore; my responsibility was to look for the security implications of the system and to ensure that the network availability would be maintained for accessing the system. Therefore; I used my own knowledge to develop the architecture. In thisprocess, I also communicatedwith the projectmanager and the CEOabout the

4 REFLECTION ON IS PRACTICE requirements of the information management. This helped me to deliver my knowledge in the network development with success. I also maintained communication with the other project members regarding the objectives and the process of development. Information was shared between each other which helped me to complete my work with success. Further, I also maintained the compliances in the process of completing my task. The compliances were made clear to me by the project manager and with his support; it was possible for me to deliver my best performance in this project. The difficulties that I faced initially regarding the complicated network design were mitigated with proper communication. I even shared my own knowledge with other group members for assisting them in their respective activities. Overall, I was the part of a successful project team and this helped me to gain huge experiences for future works. Reason: Impact of the group work for learning aboutenterprise architectures and governance: The project was helpful in learning about the design of the enterprise architectures. This was a new learning experience for me as previously I have not worked in such projects. Therefore; I was always forward to participate in this project as I knew that it would help me to gain new experiences. The structure of information governance of a parcel delivery company was also unknown for me and through this project; I was even able to learn how information governance differs in different industries. Even the enterprise architecture was also different compared to what I was aware in my previous projects. Therefore; it was a challenging task both for me and the other members of the group. However; the group members were ready to take up the challenge and with the support of thee project manager; proper strategies were made. All the group members communicated with each other and shared the individual experiences on the project of enterprise architecture (Ghobadi 2015). This process worked on developing some goals on the development of the system. Along with this, meetings were held regarding the development of the information governance for the enterprise system. This was conducted with the support of the CEO of the company. Each phase that was completed was used as the learning process for the group members. The findings from the phases were documented and each group member shared the experiences from the phase. This helped in learning about the next steps that required to be implemented for the successive phases. Overall, it was a continuous learning process for all the members
5 REFLECTION ON IS PRACTICE of the group and also helped me to learn about the enterprise architecture and governance with success. Reconstruct: Lessons for the future IS practice: Information system is one area which keeps on evolving with the time and demands. Therefore; it is always important to keep the individuals updated with the new knowledge and skills (Kirk and MacDonell 2018). For me, involvement in the project of BlueParcel was a new learning experience. Through this, I learnt about the architecture of enterprise system of a B2C business process. Due to the fact that it was a relatively new project for me, therefore; I have given importance to learn from each of the phase. In this regard, I also learnt about the way an information system can be reconstructed. I learnt about the process by which the new technologies can be implemented in the project of enterprise system. This would help me to use the knowledge in the future IS practices as well. I have learnt about the project governance by communicating with the project manager and the compliances that are necessary for following in the projects of information system. I was not aware about all the standards and compliances that are essential for improving the quality of an information system project. Therefore; this project also contributed on learning about these standards and compliances with success. In this regard, it will motivate me to keep myself updated regarding learning about the changing compliances for the future IS practice. I am now confident on taking the challenges for participating in the new IS practice e. I have event learnt about the processes by which the project managers of IT projects lead the group. This would help me in the future when I would take the charge as a project manager. It will make me more confident about leading the IS projects with success. Therefore; for my own career and personal growth, this project of BlueParcel has been extremely significant. Conclusions: This was a reflection report in which the individual learning experiences from the project were shared. Perception was provided regarding the contribution of groups in this project. The impact of the group work for the success of an IS project has been also assessed through this reflection report.
