REFLECTION ON WORLDVIEW2
Response to Question 1
Adhering to the Biblical perspective, a true Christian believes in the existence of God
in the form of the Holy Trinity that is as an amalgamation of the Father, the son and the Holy
Spirit. The Christian ethics dictates that God is the creator and sustainer of all that we see and
exists on the face of the earth. Though the Holy Trinity is there God is not limited to these
forms, He is considered to be formless and omnipresent and is present in ways which the
human mind cannot comprehend. The ethics of the Christian spirituality dictates that though
science is our best option for discovering and gathering information about the world we live
in, but research is also solely dependent on the discretion of God and happens with His will.
The profession of healthcare is considered to be one of the most respectable fields as
they were treated as Gods, healers of the pained. The Christian ethics of healthcare shows
that the patient and doctor or nurse’s relationship cannot be taken as between inanimate
object (Nissen, Gildberg & Hvidt, 2018). It has to be one of purity as the spirituality shows
that each human life is created as God’s own image. This is the direct reflection of the
thought that there is but one truth, and that cannot be denied by anyone. The truth learnt with
the help of science discoveries are the truth which God wants the humankind to know, it is
discovered and not produced.
While the postmodern relativism stands in direct contrast to this view of ultimate
truth, the belief of relativism shows that human beings are the creator of their own truth, and
that truth is subjective for it is invented by individuals. The theory of relativism proposes that
Truth cannot be universal for it has everything to do with the personal view of an individual.
