INTRODUCTION Reflection plays an important role in personal development as ithelps the person analysing own strengths and weaknesses (Bell, 2010). This is an analytical practice in which thoughts, emotions and feelings related with different situationsare being evaluated. The report is focused on evaluating personal development, academic work and clinical practices of nurse. Further, it ill be focused on professional development of health practitioner across four branches of nursing in accordance with Nursing midwifery council Code of Conduct. MAIN BODY Nursing profession is the core of health care organisation. However, to make the process and functioning ethical and patient centred, health care organisation follows code of conduct by nurses and midwifery council 2015.It is to maintain the effectiveness in practices of health practitioners (Urden, Stacy and Lough, 2017). From practices, I learned that NMC code of conduct helps in maintaining the responsibility with own beliefs and values.Emotional resilient is an important characteristic for all nurses, which is improved with the help of reflective writing. This helps the nurse in developing understanding over own improvement measures as per code ofstandards.Emotionalintelligenceandstrongresiliencehelpsthenurseindeveloping appropriate behaviour, reasoning and cognitive development of diverse patients. In accordance with NMC Code of Conduct, nurse is able to prioritize patient requirement which helps the practitioner in maintaining effectiveness in nursing practices. Reflection helps the nurse in analysing personal development on thebasis of set objectives which are based four key areas that isadult, children, learning disabilities or mental health. From the learning, the individuals are able to analyse own strengths and weaknesses which need to be managed as per NMC code of conduct. This following code of standards helps the practitioner in developing professionalism towards nursing practices and responsibilities. Theme 1: Personal development in adult, children, learning disabilities or mental health nursing Description During my practice, I came across the diverse situations and service users in hospital. I was dealing with different types of patient such as children, students, person suffering from mental disability and learning disability. I feel that NMC code of conduct is core of nursing 1
practices as it helps the individuals in aligning clinical practices as per patient centric approach. As per my academic learning,Ihave analysed that medication, safety, recovery and observations of patient during treatment period is the major area of concern for health care providers. Further, I feel that personnel requires feedback of patients, support of management and other nursing staffs during my clinical practices. Negative and positive feedbacks are given by the patients regarding hospital management and nursing staffs. Positive feedback works as a reward and it is the matter of concern for me to deal with negative feedback. I used to console the patients with my caring nature by marinating dignity of patients. As per NMC Code of Conduct, special skills and techniques are applied to handle the mental learning of children. Midwives are concerned with health and care of children with their mother. It is a great experience to handle the children in different ways. I have to deal with different roles of professionalism like friends, social workers, physiologist, teachers, etc. to make them understand the learning activities. Further,Ifeel involving with patient helps in learning diverse tasksand activities with regard to patients and their medication. Family members of the patients seem to be stressed.Apparently, according to NMC Code of Conduct, it is our oral duty to provide emotional support to patient family and immediate guardians. All the patients are taught to develop their personal activities and behaviour so that they can understand and express their feelings to others. Thus, as per involvement in clinical practices, I analysed that it is necessary to maintain a trustworthy relationship with patients. Feelings I choose to nurse as profession because it is most satisfactory profession, where I will be able to deal with diverse patients on regular basis. Analysing holistic needs of patient and providing treatment is the condition which assist me in gaining satisfaction over my profession. Sometimes, it was annoying to deal with patients but my morality never allowed me to ignore my duties towards patients. It is a great experience to deal with diverse patients because it helps in learning various new things which are beneficial for professional development.Further, I feel loving and caring is necessary support which is given by nurses to service users. With involvement in nursing practices, I feel service users get internally weak due to arrogant response of health practitioners.I enjoy my work because serving patients motivates me for implementing unique steps to deal with service users.Support of management team and other 2

nursing staffs give me strength to do my job with dignity and honour. Overall, it is a good experience to be a nurse because this taught me the essence of humanity and well-being. Illustration1: Gibbs' reflective cycle (Source:GIBBS' REFLECTIVE CYCLE,2018) Evaluation During my practice time, I had lots of good and bad experiences that made me learn a lot of things. While practicing, I analysed that it is necessary for the nurses to ensure physical and emotional support to patient across all four branches of nursing. In addition, I evaluated that patients are vulnerable for medication and therefore, it is essential for the nurse to protect interest of service users when enabling medication. BY involving with diverse patientIgot to knowthat it is necesatuy forthenurse to have emotional control when enable treatment and medication to patients. (Christopher and Solomon, 2018). My beliefs and values over communication with all group of people are based on soft voice and use of appropriate words which help in promoting the sense of living in physically and mentally challenged service users. However, learning from different health care situations, I understood that communication with service users plays a vital role in managing effectiveness in health care services. According to NMC Code of Conduct, I learned that patient centred care and quality of work services are the base of health organisation. Further, I feel coordinating with colleagues and social care service providers is also an essential part of nursing practices, as it helps the individuals in understanding holistic needs of 3
diverse patients (Baldwin, 2016). In addition, with the help of module, I came across various responsibilities of nurses which are required to be followed for patient centric care in four branches of nursing. Apparently, in my opinion, development of professional nurse is based on practices and involvement with different types of patients. Analysis As perChristopher and Solomon, 2018,I analysed that treating patients with kindness and respect is the foremost responsibility of nurse which helps in professional development. Further, from the standards of NMC, I analysed that working in partnership with colleagues helps in delivering effective care services. Coordination with health practitioners assist the nurse in analysing additional needs of diverse patients. Likewise, according toMoran, Burson and Conrad 2016, it has been identified that encouraging and empowering people in health care is the code of conduct of NMC which helps in making shared decisions. Moreover, as per NMC Code of Conduct, I focus on my professional development where I evaluated about balancing needs of patients in case when service users act vulnerable and deny for medication and treatment. During professional development, I realized that involving in clinical practices by seeking help form academic learning and sources helps the nurse in managing effectiveness in care services. Conclusion Fromabove discussion and analysis, I analysed the importance of refection writing for professional development which helps nurse in analysing own strengths and weaknesses. Apparently, from the discussion, I would like to outline that following code of standards by NMC is the core of maintaining discipline in nursing practices. Further, from the study, I derived the need of further changes in my practices and development. I identified that it is necessary for me to focus on practising with diverse people in health care organisation. Diversity plays a vital role in care practices because the four branches of nursing care are completely different from each other, where nurse is responsible for managing service users according to their various holistic needs. Action plan The development of health and social care will be my first action plan. Lots of people are suffering from these types of situations but there is no one to care about them. With the 4
involvement I realized that community care and support nurses also plays an important role for health care organisation and therefore, now I will be focusing on involving in training for proving personal care to physically or mentally challenged.I will focus on involving different kinds of patients on regular basis which will help me in practising NMC code of conduct and will aid in developing familiarity with diverse patients and their care needs. Moreover, I will participate in training session of health care organisation to analyse the views of different professionals and practitioners over different health care situations. With the help of these funding agencies, I would like to enhance the facilities and medical treatment for these patients. Welfare societies will be established by using all NMC Code of Conduct where patients can recover their health conditions. 5
