INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is defined as the analysing the own skills and interest areas
that what exactly the person wants to pursue in their life and how it can be attained for a short,
medium and long terms career goals and developments. It is developed by determining the own
qualities and abilities that can enhance the career in a more potential way (Grill, Nielsen,
Grytnes, Pousette and Törner, 2019). The following discussions are made on the prior learning to
identify potential areas for development, employer operations to identify training & development
opportunities, skills audit to define areas of personal development & training needs, developing a
personal development plan, developing S.M.A.R.T. goals to meet personal and employer needs,
presenting a personal development plan to an employer and tutor, personal development through
work-based learning experience, periodically reviewing own progress and development, learning
& development through reflection and 360-degree feedback and preparing a plan for future
development in relation to career goals with proper findings and conclusion.

Analyse prior learning to identify potential areas for development
Qualifications of Site Manager
Qualifications required graduation degree to become the construction site manager such
as construction and project management or civil engineering. Most of the aspiring site managers
build themselves in gaining charter ship with the Chartered Institute of Building which is a
professional qualification to acquire the job. Individuals should have to complete a bachelor’s
degree in construction management, project management, building management and civil
engineering, most of the companies prefer the candidates with a master’s degree in construction
management, they should have in-depth knowledge of different building methods and project
management computer software. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified
Project Manager (CPM) and Master Project Manager (MPM) are some helpful Software.
Different domains of site manager are civil engineer, engineering manager, architect, project
leader, project manager, planning manager and assistant manager.

There are several areas of development to become the site manager such as hiring staff,
maintaining quality control procedures, ensuring site safety by making safety inspections,
problem solving, sourcing materials, checking and preparing reports for clients, monitoring
progress of the project, listening with clients or the client's representatives to update on progress
and keeping staff motivated and focused (Omar, Mahdjoubi and Kheder, 2018). All such areas of
development are highly required to become the site manager because these developments help
the person not only in developing professionally but also personally as well, and moreover, these
areas of developments assist an individual to get specialised in construction management which
can enhance the career growth with more learnings and gaining of knowledge regarding this field
for improvement in long term amendments for desired life aspirations.
Employer operations to identify training & development opportunities
There are several operations that are performed by the employer to identify training and
development opportunities in management, equipment, production technology, quantity
surveying and law which require employer operations such as questionnaires, surveys,
observations, interviews, case studies, conferences, assessments, field visit, seminar, films and
videos, group discussions and lectures (Nasirian, Arashpour and Abbasi, 2018). These are the
operations which are important and tells the leader that how they can contribute to the training
and development activities specially by identifying the opportunities related to it. It can be done
by both the types such as electronically and in traditional way as well. Traditionally, employer
needs physical work more and it is time and cost consuming also but electronically, it becomes
easy for the employer to carry out the process in an effective manner as it is cost, time and
energy efficient so that is why now a days, electronic identification of opportunities are going in
trend such as online fill up of questionnaires, online surveys by communicating and interacting
with the employees, online observations by virtual meetings which enhances the technical
knowledge as well and similarly online interviews, case studies, conferences, assessments and so
on. This makes employees in not only working professionally and potentially but also they take
interest in participation, engagement and creative minds so that they can perform their work in a
more amended manner.
