Introduction
Reflection is the way of analysing self strengths and weaknesses so that an individual will
work to develop good skills and mitigate bad habits (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020).
Gibbs reflection model is one of the most effective reflection model which analyse the situation
of issues and conflicts faced by an organisation or a individual. It has six stages of exploring an
situation or experience. This model is used by most of the individuals to analyse what they learn
from their experiences. All six stages of this model has their own importance like descriptive
stage states the description of situation, feeling stage states how an individual feel by facing the
situation, evaluation states what all happen and what is right and wrong in the situation,
conclusion states what could be done to make the situation correct and in the end action plan
stage states that what could be done next time if the same situation arise again. The following file
covers all six stages of Gibbs model in context of Weekly learning log which further help to
develop a business plan for project.
Main Body
Gibbs model
Stage 1- Description
I am having my online classes on WebEx where my teachers provide lectures on
Enterprise Development where I learn new topics every week which help me further to clear all
my concepts regarding entrepreneurship and start-ups. I attend classes for 10 weeks. After this
classes I made my project on business plan of London Coffee Shop. Hence, my most of the
doubts get cleared after attending these 11 week classes. The most important benefit of this
classes is that every week I learn something new and teacher provide appropriate time to each
topic so that all students will learn perfectly. At first week of lecture which is held between
2/6/2021 – 4/6/2021 where I studied the meaning and concept of entrepreneurship, importance of
entrepreneurship, entrepreneur motivation and rewards and challenges of entrepreneurs. During
second week between 9/6/2021 – 11/6/2021 I studied about business idea and opportunities. Here
I also get to Know about Innovation and it’s importance within the organization. During 3rd week
16/6/2021- 18/6/2021 I studied about business plan and types of business plan. During 4th week I
studied about target market, competitors and marketing mix. At fifth week I studied about trait
theory and logistics management and supply chain management. At sixth week I studied

importance of business funding and types of funds. At seventh week I studied short term and
long term sources of funding and some additional sources of funding. Seventh week is like the
revision of sixth week. Then at eight week I studied HRM and important roles played by HR
manager. At ninth week I studied about business growth and types of business growth. At tenth
week I studied about how to use reflective learning for self assessment (Middleton, 2017).
Stage 2- Feelings
My feelings can be described in two parts first is before attending classes and second is
after attending classes. Before taking classes I feel that how I will learn concepts clearly in an
online lectures and how will teacher make my doubts clear through online mode. After attending
the lectures I felt that my teacher make it very easy to understand each and every topic through
online mode.
Stage 3- Evaluation
The good thing which happen after attending the classes is that my concepts regarding
business and business plan get resolved and I learn that what all factors impact a new business
There are few bad experience in every situation (Bass and et. al., 2020). Hence, these classes
help me in enhancing my skills of learning. On the other hand the bad experience about these
classes is that I am unable to practice this knowledge practically. I gain Theoretical knowledge
but practically I am afraid to opt them in my project module. I tried to contact my teacher and
wants to clarify my doubts but it was tough in online classes and hence my few concepts are
unclear.
Stage 4- Analysis
The weekly classes help me to complete my CW1 assessment where I have to prepare a
business plan for London Coffee Shop. The lectures which was held online helped a lot in
solving all my doubts related to my pending project. All the things went well in online classes
and I make notes of all topics. The best experience about the lectures was that topics were easy
and teachers provide appropriate time to cover each topic so that no student will remain unclear
about their doubts (Ardian, Hariyati and Afifah, 2019). Secondly, I also get to know that how
these theoretical knowledge should be implemented within real life. For example in week 1st I
leant about entrepreneurship where I learn all required skills and qualities of a entrepreneur.
Hence, this will help me to focus especially on those skills and become a successful entrepreneur
in my life. Secondly in the 3rd week I learnt about business plan and how to structured a business

plan which is one of the most important requirement for my project. This also helps me in my
personal life where I can develop a business plan for my chosen business.
Stage 5- Conclusion
There are few learnings from every situation (Tawanwongsri and Phenwan, 2019). I have
learnt many things from this weekly classes such as at the first week I learnt importance of
entrepreneurship and qualities of a good entrepreneur, steps to start a business and the factors of
motivation for entrepreneurs. At second week I learnt about difference between opportunity and
entrepreneur idea and few of the best techniques to generate idea. At 3rd week I learnt about
problems faced by an entrepreneur in developing a business plan like lack of knowledge in all
required aspects and many others and in the same week I learnt the steps required to make a
effective business plan. At the 4th week I learnt about how to do market research and how
marketing mix will help the business to grow well. At 5th week I learnt about advantage and
disadvantage of supply chain management. 6thand 7th week I learnt about requirements of venture
funding, the types of equity funds, difference between long term finance and short term finance.
At 8th week I learnt about difference between team and group, HRM and their specific roles. At
9th week I learned about how to measure business growth and types of business growth like
internal and external. At the last week I learnt about reflection and how I will use it to measure
my performance and make corrective measures to enhance my personal skills. The Gibbs model
which I am using in this module is also a part of my 9th week learning. The all lectures which I
have attended online could be more positive and better in case they will help offline which
further helps to gain practical knowledge by performing some activities on entrepreneurship. The
most important skill which I need to develop during this module is learning skill, presentation
skill and decision making skill. I learn many concepts through this online classes hence gain the
skills of quick learning. Presentation skill is important because it helps in presenting a report or
project file in a better way. By attending all these classes I get to know the sequence of my
project of business plan for London Coffee Shop (Al-Jubouri and Al-Jubouri, 2019). At the end
decision making skill is also enhanced by this module because in online classes I learn many
ways and types of business plan but I have to choose only one business plan for my project
which I will choose according to aims and objectives of the company.
Stage 6- Action plan

In case same lectures will be repeated in class then I will revise my topics again and I can
make modifications in my in my weekly learning log. Knowledge and skills of presentation,
decision making and many others can be used in my professional life because these skills are
essential in performing any job. This stage also describe the ways to improve skills (Sweet and
et. al., 2019). Secondly in case I opt for entrepreneur field then I will then decision making skill
can be used where I have to make decisions about my business growth and survival. I can
improve my skills which I learn from my weekly classes such as mentioned below-
I can gain presentation skill by practising more to write whatever I learn in a sequence
wise manner.
I can gain decision making skill by practising to solve case studies and answer their
questions. I can especially solve the case studies of business and entrepreneur situations
where the questions are related to making appropriate decisions. I can answer the
questions and get it checked by my teacher so that in case I have made some wrong
decisions then my teacher will correct me. Secondly I can also gain this skill by
participating more in extra curricular activities and participate in this activities as an
leader so that I can learn that how a leader make good decisions.
Conclusion
From the above information it is clearly concluded that Gibbs model is used for self
reflection that how an individual acts in a particular situation. There are different topics which is
discussed in different weeks. There are few skills which are required to develop a business plan
like learning skill, presentation skill and decision making skill. Identifying problems and solving
them is good for habit for personal as well as for professional life.
