Reflection on my individual performance, behaviour and
experience in education at LSST
In this essay, I will discuss my experience on PSKC module. I will also explain how I have developed as
an effective learner during this module, giving examples. In my reflection, I will look back in time and try
to understand my strengths and weaknesses. Then I explain how I will develop myself to meet the future
challenges and expectations of a university course. My explanation includes the actions I planned. This
piece of reflective writing was influenced by Driscoll’s model of reflection (2007).
In the first week of courses we focused mainly on what BA(Hons) Business Management with Founda
Year means. Being a student for the first time it is very important to know the profile I am going to st
the benefits it will bring me in the future, how it will help me in my future management career. We w
presented with basic things regarding the access to the online platforms of the University, basic elem
in the use of the computer. All the things I learned in the first week help me to be more confident and
to manage this during my four years of studies.
In week two the lecturer introduced us to digital literacy and technology skills. During this lesson I
learned about the importance of knowing literary writing skills, about how important it is to know whe
look for the correct information, where to store it and how to check it. The work done in class determ
us to put into practice what was presented. Another important thing was the presentation of Excel, a
program very often used by students over the years of study.a very important aspect presented was
Microsoft Office platform and how we can use it for free. The lecturer showed us how we can send em
through the Outlook application and how we can connect on the university platform to find all the
information we need.I gained this week very important knowledge that will be useful to me and will m
me a confident student who can handle himself when he has questions and these can not be clarified
the lecturer .
For weekthree, the lecturer prepared us as two important topics "How to use immersive reader" and i
benefits and “REFLECTION” . Two activities took place during the course, one aiming to recap what h
been discussed a week before where our attention was put to the test and another in which we were
asked to reflect on ourselves. We were presented with how important reflection is and what is its role
academic study, the practicality of reflection and Driscoll's Cycle of Reflection.During the lesson we w
presented with the 3 questions " what? so what? and now what? " basic questions when it comes to
reflection. This week we learned how important it is to reflect on everything that happens to us so tha

can learn something from all this and be able to change things in the future. As in the academic
environment, in business we encounter this phenomenon of reflection in the moments when we have
make the most important decisions. All these reflective thinking skills are not aimed at returning to pa
experiences but are aimed at taking better actions for the future.
In weekfourof the study there was talk about one of the most important topics that a student must kn
namely "academic writting skills".I learned about the rules that we have to follow then in academic
writing, about the different structures of academic presentations and about a very important thing,
paraphrasing. The lecturer presented us where we can enter to check and correct the papers in terms
grammar and punctuation. Essentials about the vocabulary to be used in academic writing, about the
impersonal way in which we should write our papers. I gained knowledge this week about what steps
need to follow in writing an essay, portfolio and the rules I need to follow in order for them to be writt
correctly. All this knowledge gained today will help me throughout my academic years in order to prep
the assessments correctly and to be able to be marked so that I can get the best results. Also in week
was presented the platform "Wordtune" that could help us paraphrase certain sentences.
in the fifth week I learned about how to create a power point, about how to use it, about how we can
make correct presentations using all the tools it has. We were also introduced to how the university h
us in these years of university by providing us with Modules Handbook, library, material lecture, form
feedback, turnitin, tutorial. The lecturer showed us what we need to access to see the assignment tha
need to be done, the time in which it must be submitted, where we find the course materials and
especially where the projects need to be loaded. We have been presented with these aspects and wh
we can check the similarity of the work.We discussed various concept of communications for academ
and professional context. We also did a group work to understand more about communication. We wa
some video to to understand how easy is it to misunderstand the same word with different meanings
From the lecture we learned how to communicate using our body language such as gestures, facial
expression, eye contact and posture. From what I learned today in class I we try to apply to be more
confident and also I will try to be a good listener without the intention to replay immediately and to c
always if I understood corectly, what situation is it good or bad one.Communication can be defined as
process of transmitting information and common understanding from one person to another (Keyton,
I believe that all these things learned in these five weeks will help me better understand the academ
environment, what it means to be a student and what my attributions are at the moment, what I need
use to have the best results and to be an effective student. An important thing learned is that in the
business world before you can be a boss, you have to be a leader.
In conclusion learning the PSKC modules helped me figure out what is my strength and fears in acade
From what I understood during the modules I will work on the fears that I discovered trying to improv
