INTRODUCTION
Reflective practice is a process or ability to reflect on one's actions in order to participate
in the process of continuous learning. Insight development is the end result of this concept.
Basically it involve critical evaluation to the theories and values of an individual which give
shape to its actions (Walvoord, 2010). Reflection is used by individuals as a tool for self
assessment and play and important role in the process of learning. Learning from observation is
also covered under this. Present report is based on the topic reflective assessment of an
individual in which I work in an enterprise as a manager. Description of events which is I see
and hear and what do I think about those events and use of that information for me is all detailed
under this report.
TASKS
1 Experience and events
As a manager in ALDI I execute number of activities in firm from give guidance to
middle level manages from allocate funds to different departments for complete their activities.
Along with this I hear and see number of things daily which give shape to my perception relate
with different areas. Being a manager I hear problems of employees work at lower level and than
I do efforts to to eliminate those issues so they can done or complete their work in minimum
amount of time (Schuwirth and van der Vleuten, 2011). Problems which rise on a daily basis are
handle by me in order to increase the effectiveness of production process. Further I hear and
handle the complaints of customers relate with the quality of product and I make deals with
suppliers to purchase good quality raw material wit minimum cost.
Things which I do in ALDI as being in a post of manager can be understood by the
following points: Implement plans: As a manager I execute business plans in enterprise set by top
management. This help in utilise all resources of firm. Make budgets: I identify and evaluate the financial needs of every department working in
firm and than I make budgets and allocate funds to their managers so they can execute
their activities as planned. Guide workers: Being a manager it comes my responsibility to conduct training sessions
for employees in which I guide about the ways which they can use for complete assign
jobs.

Performance evaluation: This is one of my essential duty which I perform at ALDI. I
timely collect information about the performance of workers and than guide them so they
can fulfil the gap between actual and standards skills require to accomplish the task.
Communicate with workers: Being a manager a play a role of mediator between lower
and top level managers. I make the employees inform about about the rules and policies
formulate by top manages. Further I communicate with top managers about the issues
and problems faced by employees working at lower level.
Being a manager I take part in a process of group communication. I feel very happy that
I got a chance to explore my skills and abilities but at the same time I was very nervous. At the
initial stage of group presentation I was very hesitate and I found difficulty in choose right
strategy to communicate with my group members. But as time passes I learnt more about how to
behave and perform in this and soon I become comfortable in the whole process. One of the main
advantage of this is that it increase my confidence level and now I learn how confidently
communicate with my workers and to make them inform regarding the strategies and policies of
firm (van der Vleuten And et. al., 2012). From this event I gain a positive experience about what
communication strategies must be used by me to perform my role effectively in enterprise. In
this way I can identify and explore the opportunities exist in enterprise.
2 Interpretation and evaluation of events
One of the main advantage of event in which I take part is that it enhance my
communication skills which help me perform my role more effectively. Now I think that whole
event was so profitable for me. Things which I learn support me in effective implementation of
my other activities. I gain a lot of things and experience form the whole event. Positive
experience of mine was that I help me to coordinate with the activities of my peers which was
involve in the group presentation (Norcini and et. al., 2011). Further I learn how to give point to
point presentation to audience to make them able to understand the topic. This enhance my
research and development skills which help me explore new and various ways to solve an issue
arise at enterprise. Participation in group presentation enhance my vocabulary and I gain
experience on oral presentation and also learn the advantages of cooperation on final output of
group presentation. This learning will help me in plan future deciding future action of
employees. Now I can make communicate with them effectively and can solve all the issues and

of company. In this way company can generate more amount of profits. Before staring of the
event I as very nervous as I did not do any practice to present my views in front of audience
that's why I was very nervous (Parsons and Zhang, 2014.). But now I think that these type of
events are beneficial as this not only increase my knowledge but at the same time boost my
experience and confidence. As now this will support me during the formulation of business plans
for firm and at the enterprise can utilise all its resources at maximum which will increase
productivity of company. After the whole event I changed my thinking relate with group
presentation.

(Norcini and et. al., 2011). Overall I can apply the gain information in various areas from
communication strategies to implementation of business plan. In this way I can better apply the
information I learn by participate in group presentations.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it can be summarise that concept of reflection can be used by
the manager of M&S to increase the effectiveness of all tasks perform by him. Being at a
position of manager he can increase level of his knowledge by taking part in group presentation.
With the help of this manager can understand what strategies can be used by him to
communicate with workers and to handle their issues and can apply the new information in
various areas.
