Reflective essay on group presentation
I believe that working in the group is considered as the challenging task.
However, team working helped me in developing the learning with respect to preparing
an effective presentation. The foremost thing that is done by my group was working with
coordination (Gallagher and et.al., 2017). The meetings that are been made in between
us relating to the assigning of the task and in distributing the matters that is to be
prepared by each of us. Our meetings was very productive and all the members in the
group has promptly performed their delegated task. The other things that we had done
was gathering the information. Our detailed research relating to the SWOT of the
Facebook, helped us in enhancing our knowledge regarding the positive and the
negative components that are attached to the social networking site.
On the other hand, I found that our presenting style was not that good as it could
be as the information collected by us was in depth and we couldn't be able to deliver as
much as we could. This is because we made errors in transitioning in between the
speakers and some circumstances were there when we had said same things.
However, on the personal note I feel that I communicated my part of the task in a well
established form as I covered all the important points that were vital in context of the
argument (Bass, Fenwick and Sidebotham, 2017). Like, for avoiding the rambling, I
had included some essential facts and has left out the things that were not persuasive
and interesting for the audience to know about.
Through the group presentation, my communication skills and public speaking
got much better, still sometimes I felt uncomfortable in speaking technical words in a
fluent language. At that time, I tended for speaking fast or rushing off my speech due to
which sometimes I forgot about what I was talking about. ON an entire note, overall my
group members did the great job and had coordinated in better way (Tonni, Mora and
Oliver, 2016). By the group presentation, I planned for learning from the mistakes and
for speaking in front of the people in order to improve quality of my speaking skills and
also public speaking.
My group members and I had produced such a good presentation because of
cooperation in between us. AS the project was assigned to us, me and my team
members started brainstorming relating to ideas regarding our topic that in what way it

the presentation will be made and what will be our findings. After making these
decisions, we had organized the meeting and the delegation of work is made
accordingly. Group presentation has taught us in taking the advantages of every group
member to their best potential by identifying their strengths at the time of working in the
team. For instance- We delegated the preparation of the presentation to that member
who was having the knowledge of using the applications of the computer. However, we
believe that having the good form of the presentation was not enough for giving a
successful speech, it also includes the manner in which the information is to be
presented. We had made a lot of redundancy errors in our presentation because we
had not practised once before giving the final presentation (Mathieson, 2016). Other
mistakes were also been made like there was a delay in between the first and the
second presenters which results in the losing of the audience attention and affects the
flow of presentation. But, overall the content of our presentation was good and had
developed my presenting skills.
During the research, we had found ample of the information and the statistics in
relation to the topic. I feel that I had done a good job in respect of the sorting the
information in order to find the most effective or impactful matter for the presentation. By
making the inclusion that are important and related to the topic, creates the interest of
the audience and hence in gaining more and more participation of the audience.
This project taught me the way in which the effective presentation could be given (Wain,
2017). Thus, most importantly, I had learned many things like the way in which the
information is to be presented and preparing it well by practising for speaking in the
front of the audience. Through this, I also develop a good relation with my other team
members and my learning and communication skills get more more better.
