 Reflective journal concern
with the self reflection which
helps the individual to learn
or improve their areas for
successful career.
 Service user group are group
of people or individual that
requires the medical and
social care support from the
care provider.

MAIN BODY
A) NEEDS OF SERVICE USER GROUP
 People with the disability required a frequent and efficient
health care system for their betterment. They should be treated
just like other normal people; there should be no discrimination
against them.
 Disable people requires the physical, emotional, social moral
and psychological support, they require the equipment so that
they will live their life with no regrets.
 It is seen that in community disable people are not welcomed as
they are not treated well so this should need to be change, for
that social worker can proceed to conduct the programs so they
will educate others to respect or welcome disable people.

 Under the equality 2010 act, it is stated that people with disability covered
by this act, this law mainly aims to protect the disable people from any
discrimination, under the law there is legal right for the disable people
which covers the employment, education access to medical services etc.
 Organisations are aware of this law, which allow their HR team to hire the
candidate by considering their skills or not to ignore people due to their
disability.

B) RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL GROUP AND SERVICE
USER GROUP
 Professional social group regarding the disability field, they concern with
the problem solving and changing management to help the disable people.
 They usually possess the holistic focus, and different techniques to
understand the disable person’s situation and their environment, so that
they will proceed to prepare the plan for them.
 Social worker identifies the need of their client which helps them to
support in their treatment.

C) ROLES AND DUTIES OF SOCIAL WORKER
 Responsibility involves the carefully handle the client case,
to provide medical service access, to prepare the care
treatment plan as well as to monitor their treatment process.
 Their role is to completely support their client throughout
their treatment process, so they will motivate and also
shows their equal involvement in the medical process.
 Yes for the disable people their disability dramatically
increases with the time, reason is because of the changing
demographic trends that lead to enhance in chronic health
diseases, also due to the increase of aging in people.

there are with them at every stage so that disable people do not feel depression or anxiety.
 Main duties of social worker involve providing the advice, cooperation to the client or their
family to solve their issue.
 Communal people set the stereotype which does not allow disable people to perform their rights;
People are also discriminated at work place because of their different cultural background.
 For improving the equality and diversity, suggested policies are to ensure there should be follow
of comprehensive standards, so that it will help in implementing the diversified environment
which allows everyone to treat fairly and equally.

D) ANALYSIS OF RELEVANT LEGISLATION AND POLICIES FOR THE SERVICE USER
GROUP
 Relevant laws are Disability discrimination act (DDA), it states
that it is consider as unlawful for the firms to discriminate their
employee n the basis of their disability.
 Later on this law is replaced with the equality act 2010, this law
also protects the disable people from the discrimination but it also
entails the various other elements such as age, gender, race and
cultural aspect of the person.
 Equality act at workplace allow the HR team to not reject the
candidate person due to their disability, if such firm found doing
this then they are liable to pay penalty as well as they might have
to face the vulnerable situation such as law suits and legal actions.

E) RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE SOCIAL WORKER PROFESSIONAL ROLE
 For the social worker it is important for them
to have good knowledge and skills, so that
they can effectively involve in the process.
 Better communication will help them to
interact with client as well as to their family,
so that they will understand the requirement
for treatment.
