INTRODUCTION Employability skills is defined as set of skills which is highly needed in an individual to attain best opportunities and attain desired goals in an appropriate manner. In relation to a student, employability skills plays a significant role for getting job in a renowned organisation and performing roles as well as responsibilities in an effective manner. It is analyzed that employability skills assist an individual to perform task properly that develop positive mind set of managers towards a person in an appropriate manner. The report involves Gibbs reflective model that consist of experiences which is gained at the time of giving presentation on a particular topic. It is analyzed that reflective based learning assist an individual to attain knowledge about skills as well as competencies required to be learnt in the coming future. TASK 2 Main body Leadership skill is defined as the ability of a person to motivate, encourage and inspire an individual to attain objectives and desired goals in an effective manner. In addition to this, it is determined that having an effective leadership skills help individuals to maintain effective relationship with people that is required in order to deal with corporate sector in a proper manner. The report is reflection that is based on the first part of report which is a presentation of leadership skills of CEO of General Motors that is Mary Barra. In order to develop a presentation, there are various skills, knowledge and competencies is required to attain positive outcomes. In addition to this, by developing and giving presentation, I have learnt many skills and gain knowledge on the particular topic that will help me in future to gain positive results. For express my learning and overall experience, Gibbs reflective model will be adopt which involves various stages. Along with this such stages will assist me to showcase my experience and learning which I gain at the time developing presentation on leadership skills/ styles of Mary Barra. Gibbs reflective cycle:This model was formulated in year 1998 by Graham Gibbs which shows experience and learning outcomes that is gaining by performing task in a proper manner. with the help of Gibbs reflective cycle, it is analysed that a person can gain insight about its skills as well as experience attain by working on particular topic. Along with this, Gibbs model also help in getting knowledge about wat skills they put, what they have done and where they
lack along with this how they solve particular situation. In order to showcase my overall experience associated with presentation developed by me on specific topic, the stages of Gibbs model is given below: Description:This is said to be the primal phase of Gibbs Model, that delivers information like description of a particular situation or activity that is required to be carried out by an individual. As I have developed an effective presentation on the different range of leadership skills and attributes followed by Mary Barra, I thought it will be really very easy for me to pull out information about the first female CEO of General Motors. But in the starting of my presentation and in order to you fill it with detailed information about Mary Barra, I have performed a lot of investigation on various platforms like online websites where I have found some of the articles written by Mary Barra also took help from teachers along with my mentors and colleagues. This has helped me in in formulating the detailed information based presentation. On the other side, I also took help from my teachers like considering the skills and attributes of every single individual they have decided the team members and including this they also instructed each and everyone about their roles and responsibilities which ultimately helped in in reducing the conflict related chances. This particular scenario has helped me and my team members to put specific information about Mary Barra along with the leadership styles and attributes followed by her while running the company in successful manner. I have also gained knowledge about path goal theory and how it was applied by Mary Barra in order to keep up the company's position in the competitive market and so on. Feelings: Gibbs reflective model's second phase that specifically focuses on feelings of an individual at the time of performing a number of tasks for an individual job. Just when I started executing the presentation, I was pretty much happy about the overall scenario that I got the chance of leading a team but it was also considered as a negative point as well because mostly everysingleteammemberstartedraisingquestionsabouteachothersjobrolesand responsibilities as they were not clear about them. This was considered as the situation where I might go through different range of problems because considering every single individuals information and taking one common decisions for all of them is not that easy and this made me feel anxious about hitting the desired goal which was to complete the presentation in rightful manner with detailed information. Along with this, it is analyzed by me that to gain a job role according to our competencies, different skills is needed which is conflict management, problem-solving, time management, leadership skills, team building and so on. With the help of effective communication skills and team building skills, I am able to maintain effective relation with team members because of which the overall presentation is finished within a time frame. It is analysed that overall learning and experience will assist in both professional and personal growth as well. Moreover, it will assist in attaining best opportunity and performing job roles in an effective and proper manner. Action Plan: The last stage of Gibbs reflective cycle, wherein required activities and actions need to be created and executed to attain similar sort of role in the coming future. In addition to this, it is analyzed by me that in coming future when I will get chances, I am competent enough to perform task in an effective manner and managing groups in an appropriate manner. For improving my problem-solving skills as well as technical skills, I will going to attend online sessionwhich will assist me to learn and achieve good opportunities in coming future. In the present world, the skills which is required in order to be competent and deal with such business environment are effective communication, problem solving, time management, team handling and many more. In addition to this, I will also going to attend training sessions as well as seminars to learn leadership skills and styles which is important in order to implement activities
and gain success in an effective manner. For executing such activities, it is significant for me to develop a time chart & manage my daily activities effectively. Gaining of all such skills will help me to grab best opportunity in the coming future. CONCLUSION From the above study, it has been analyzed that Gibbs reflective cycle model is a feasible and appropriate tool that assist an individual to gain knowledge about strength and weaknesses that leads to attainment of better opportunity in coming future. In addition to this, it also help a person to gain both personal and professional growth as well. Gibbs model allow an individual to showcase overall learnings and experiences that is gained by performing a particular activity. Furthermore, it assist in gaining knowledge about skills which is needed for working in a renowned company and performing activities which leads to higher growth as well as success in an appropriate manner.
