Introduction
Reflection offers a chance to consider how one’s personal experiences and interpret
form one’s thinking and acceptance of new ideas.1 This form of writing encourages a person to
explore his/her own ideas about a text, to express one’s opinion rather than summarizing
opinions of others. Reflection of an article can help one improve their analytical skills beca
requires one to express what he/she thinks and more importantly, how and why they think
way.
This article recounts a study on an empirical investigation concerning knowledge
management competencies through the face of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
their success based on the insights from Jordan.2 The authors note that the primary objectives of
the study were to empirically examine the positive relationships between the mentioned
competencies of knowledge management with the extended enterprise resource planning
constructs that are based on aspects such as individual, workgroup and organizational imp
and the quality of the systems. In the introductory phase of the article, the authors briefly
described how the success of various organizations has been well linked to the application
knowledge. The ERP systems have been shown to integrate an institution’s processes and
functions, therefore, becoming a vital resource in the manufacturing and production proce
The authors also noted the existence of knowledge management frameworks by the
works of Chan and Rosemann who analyzed the significant roles knowledge types plays in
life cycle of ERP.3This journal of research of 2016 has described the knowledge managemen
competencies such as knowledge creation, retention, transfer, and application and provide

through a research model, the ERP success system that also includes individual, institution
workgroup impact with other aspects of information, system and consultancy quality.
In this article, the authors have employed the system knowledge management fram
where they mutually agreed on the elements of a system as part of an objective that is or
the achievement of the mutual purpose. I find this framework relevant to the article as it
conforms to the fact that all elements in a system have to fit together to be effective as w
using the systems approach or understanding its behavior through system thinking. This h
shown in the article where the authors outlined the application of knowledge by an individ
institution to the solving of their glitches at all levels of the organization. In knowledge
management, exploitation and exploration strategies in knowledge have considered some
in the exploitation of disposable knowledge and exploration of new knowledge which has a
relation to the impact of knowledge an organization needs.4I find these strategies very useful in
this article as it has helped the authors in explaining the role knowledge plays in ERP syste
success measurements hence integrating the theoretical frameworks in this writing with t
systems that evaluate the flexibility of any organization.
I find the article well researched and credible since it is clearly focused, organized
appropriately, mechanically sound and fully developed. The authors have addressed their
idea and outlined it clearly by presenting their claims, opinions, and positions on a narrow
The organization is clearly shown by the introduction, body paragraphs and a well-written
conclusion where each paragraph describes an aspect of the general topic and concludes
transition sentence to the subsequent paragraph. In my opinion, this article will leave read
with a sense of having a complete understanding of the discussion on the topic since it co

of facts, statistics, and logic. This article is well sound as it uses a standard written English
correct grammar, quality choice of words and good punctuation. The article is credible as
sources used are also authoritative and possess scholarly supportive documentation such
figures, illustrations, and verifiable tables and also the authors’ credentials do not come fr
biased source.5
This article is unbiased as it simply reports and discusses the original findings in the
research. I can, therefore, conclude that it is a scholarly article remains neutral on contras
controversial issues when analyzing different literature review. This has been noted in the
concluding paragraph where the authors argue and suggest what other studies have reinf
towards the topic being discussed. They also out rightly discuss the studies’ limitations an
perceptual measures to rule out personal biases.6 Any potential conflict of interest between the
authors was potentially ruled out in the disclosure statement. An article is likely to be relia
it has been published within a few years in the past.7 The article is reliable as it is an
international journal of 2016 and the same information can be found in other sources as s
by the citing of other journals, books, and websites in their references.
The article has influenced my thinking as it has enabled me to explain and analyze t
concepts outlined by the authors from my own point of view. This has elicited my original
and encouraged my active interest in the course materials. The concepts have forced me
on the aims of my coursework in knowledge management as the insights presented in the
provide a baseline in which one can use those theoretical concepts in helping evaluate oth

knowledge related frameworks and concepts. The article, through its informed opinions ab
different ideas, has encouraged me to be more thoughtful and balanced in my assessmen
readings. This reading reflection has offered me an opportunity to recognize and perhaps,
down my assumptions on knowledge management which have been challenged by the au
texts.
I have enjoyed evaluating this article as it has allowed me to analytically reflect upo
way authors present their ideas in an unbiased way. The authors presented their points in
clear way which will also help me focus on the concept of knowledge management in my c
study and future experiences. The article’s presentation has made me acknowledge that m
thoughts may be shaped by preconceived ideas and unwanted assumptions, therefore, it
helped me appreciate the ideas of other people and recognize that my ideas encourage or
what I read.
Conclusion
Reflective writing helps one to critically engage with concepts from a course.8 This will
relate in the way one connects his/her observations, experiences and opinions with the co
outlined in the course material hence analyzing them in his/her own point of view and
encouraging active interest in the subject. Therefore, a reflection may require a narrow fo
a strong analysis of a topic.
