INTRODUCTION
The present report is based on reflective writing over the portfolio of tasks performed
within the duration of 12 weeks on different subjects. On the basis of learning logs associated
with 12 weeks, the reflection will be thrown on how skill development took place as a result of
undertaking portfolio of tasks in each of the 12 weeks. Accordingly, personality development
plan will be created for improvement of performance with respect to similar assignments.
MAIN BODY
Reflective writing
In the first week, I have undertook learning contract, develop personal mission statement
as well as undertake the survey with respect to assessment of set of skills and behaviour needed
for the completion of the module. With learning contract, I was able to give promising comments
on how I will ensure my commitment and motivation towards the module to ensure success for
the same. From this week, I was able to develop my self-assessment skill which helps me in
fulfilling the requirements of learning contract, mission statement and determination of required
set of skills. Mission statement is necessary to be developed before beginning with any task as it
act as guiding value throughout the process of accomplishing the assigned. I learn creative
writing skill by developing personal mission statement as the latter could be possible only
through creative writing skills (Thommessen and Fougner, 2020). Also, I found that I am low in
motivation towards completing the weekly tasks due to lack of skills set needed for the
accomplish of task portfolio. With the task of self evaluation with respect to understanding the
need for skill development in the future, I was able to understand my strengths and weaknesses
right at the beginning stage of module and accordingly, I have developed high level of
determination for overcoming the identified weaknesses.
In the second week, I have answered several research questions based on own career
development. Firstly, I have determined my area of interest where I want to get employed.
Accordingly, I have identified top employable skills based on my desired field. Further, I
establish alignment between my career aspirations and values determined within personal
mission statement. I have also identified those organizations which are hiring candidates
matching with my areas of interest. With these tasks, I understood that being the area of interest
as “finance”, I need to work upon my numeracy and problem solving skills which seems to be
underdeveloped within my skill portfolio. I learnt that problem solving skills could be improved

by following the process which necessitates the listing of all possible alternatives to derive the
best solution and selecting the most feasible one based on the basis of availability of resources
(Chaykina and et.al., 2021).
In week 3, I have filled the questionnaire based on assessing self-leadership skills and
abilities. At the end of this week, I realized several strengths and weaknesses of my own making
me aware of self-leadership skills already existing as well as those required to be developed. I
understood that the level of motivation and dedication present in me act as the most crucial factor
in influencing my performance and accordingly, I could be able to perform to the expected level.
Also, I have developed my understanding that I lack ability to regulate myself where I found that
there is no control of own over thoughts and emotions and thus need external interference. This
lead to getting hesitant in responding to challenges coming on in way rather than addressing
them effectively. I found myself good at social skills which is necessary for sustainable existence
in professional environment as it facilitates building rapport and relationships with others.
In week 4, after getting results for emotional intelligence, I come to known about several
emotional aspects of my own which gives me an idea of strengths and opportunities for further
development available to me. Empathy, adaptability and self-control over emotions are some
areas where I am lacking and thus indicates opportunities for development. Having self-
awareness and positive outlook towards external world are my strengths. Having self-awareness
always create high level of self-confidence in me which in turn helped me in ensuring greater
ability to communicate. Learning in this week enhances my emotional intelligence which helps
me in my professional development in terms of understanding others and accordingly adjusting
own behaviour, making good decisions & becoming respected leader (Allen and et.al., 2019).
Also, it is helped me in personality development because EI ensures improvement in
interpersonal relationships.
Within week 5, CV writing was practised by reflecting upon those skills and abilities that
are necessary for creating personal profile which qualifies an individual for a certain position.
This in turn helps me in my own professional development by identifying right job based on my
skills and abilities. Furthermore, CV writing is considered to be a crucial interview skill which
enhances interviewee's image and rapport in front of interviewer if CV has been written in a
required manner. Accordingly, possibility of getting selected for desired position gets increased
and thus adds to professional development.
