Comprehensive Analysis: Regulation of Nursing by Different Boards

Regulation of nursing by different boards
To take care of nurses who provide basic health care and benefit their political advocacy different boards are created.
Some of the points differentiating between the two are:
 Board of nursing is governed by board of directors and no payment is required as they are not for profit. Their
main motto is to ensure basic health care. The members consist of members like qualified nurses. Board of
nurses do not draft legislations and do not voice rights for any change in law. They are mostly involved in
renewal or checking the licenses.
 Nursing associations are elected by their own members and is financially dependant on payments by its
members. Unlike the board of nurses these organization protects the legal rights of nurses and ensures political
advocacy ( Olson & Stokes, 2016). The members together form a strong association thus impacting their
movement on particular situations.

Members of nursing board in Pennsylvania
* Pennsylvania is a north eastern US state having a diverse terrain. Many nursing programmes are
designed here but license is not approved during coarse curriculum.
* To become a registered nurse a graduate degree is essential with state certification from approved
nursing bodies ( DeNisco & Barker, 2013). The board members of our group consist of qualified nurses
and experience of more than 5 years.
* The members were selected by the existing members and the one with majority votes become member
of highest order.
*It is compulsory for all the members to have a license and renewed from time to time. The board
consists of Chairman, Executive directors, Managing directors and Director of operations among others.
The highest members of board are selected through expertise and experience.

Important regulation conducted by the board for health care
The health organization is involved with many schemes
for the benefits of basic health care. One of them is
health insurance for workers.
 Health insurances are being renewed for every
nursing members every year. This ensures them
secured medical necessity in future.
 The insurances consists of regulations that limit the
workers to share medical records of the patients.
 Medical necessity is important part of the important
regulations governed by our organization which
ensures basic health care to every members and
others, thus helping in governing their profession
( Ballard et al ., 2016).

Importance of the regulations
These regulations like the insurance has a great impact on benefits of
nursing principles. The benefits discussed are enormous like the given
below
 Children health insurance program is one of the scheme of indemnity
followed by the organization. This is similar to other health benefits
by nursing bodies in US also known as Circulation, Motion and
Sensation.
 The insurances are designed according to needs of people and gives
many benefits like prevention and care ( Spetz et al ., 2013).
 These insurances ensures preventive care also to some epidemic
diseases.

Changes in regulation and their influence
There is always an urgent need to address the grievances
in nursing bodies. Therefore it is needed to regulate
changes in principles after a small period of time to
ensure flexibility ( Glembocki , 2013).
 In past times midwifery was allowed in certain parts of
the country but after many serious incidents which
posed serious threat, midwifery was discontinued.
 The changes are made after being approved by each
member or the majority. This changes have no fixed
time and can take 5 years or sometimes within months.
 These changes are made after discussing within the
members and looking all the points.
 The nursing principles are main focus of the changes
in regulations and are often influenced by other
nursing bodies also.

State regulation and their impact on nursing principle
State regulations as specified by nursing associations are important guidelines that
bring in change in the scope of nursing principle.
 Requirement of licensure and protecting the title is an important regulation in
nursing by the government (Polivka & Chaudry, 2015). These are important
guidelines by the government and has serious impact on nursing principles
 The licensure as specified by the government would follow important rules
which needs to be followed and may have separate criteria. Thus having
influence in nursing principles.
 These state regulations addresses the code of ethics and many are benefitted
which ensures acute care. It is aimed to address the work ethics of nurses so that
health care is not compromised as nurses are important part of healthcare keeper.

State regulation for APRN and its impact
National Council of state board for nursing allows
APRN ( advanced practising registered nurse) to
diagnose , evaluate patients and initiating the
treatments and is designed according to model of basic
nursing ( Xue et al .,2016) . The regulations have an
immense scope of influence in nursing role:
o To curb shortages the guidelines are helpful to
follow as it leads to diversity for health seeker.
o Independent privileges are ensured to the nurses
and independence for treating the patient.
o The regulations has an immense influence on
nursing practises as guidelines need to be followed.
o The guidelines see to it that nurses work
collaboratively with the physicians and the health
administrators to ensure better and collective
outcome based health care.

Influence of the guidelines in health care access
The health care guidelines of the state play a very important role in every
aspect:
 The combined action of nurses with other health care specialists ensures
effective care to everyone and cuts down the cost (Yang et al ., 2016)
 The affordable care act in nursing gives a nurse to play the role
effectively and ensure quality and lower costs.
 Population care and enhanced set of knowledge by nurses ensures better
quality of living which is cost effective.
 The guidelines ensure that basic principles are followed and if not then
there are laws to look for it.
