2INTRODUCTION TO HOSPITALITY, TOURISM AND EVENT
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to investigate the relationship among the organizations
within hospitality, tourism and event industries in Australia. Tourism, hospitality and event
businesses are the main frontline of the Australian economy that provides consumer products as
well as personal services to both international and domestic consumers. The sectors are affected
by the continual changes in the national as well as international consumer demands and their
expectations by global marketplace. The tourism, event and hospitality sector involve
restaurants, accommodation, tour operators, resorts, cultural tourism and so on. The markets
within tourism as well as hospitality including business travel, main events and education travel
offer potential benefit for the other sectors to promote this country and its goods and services.
Large number of businesses in hospitality, events and tourism are active in more than one
sectors. For instance, hotels require tourism for generating part of the business and the events
usually cooperate with tourism for promoting their location (Thakran & Verma, 2013). Driven
by the changes in the consumer trends and demography of foreign population within Australia,
the nature of tourism, hospitality and event is changing. The complexity of enterprise and
laborforce generally make up the sectors requirements that is to be understood by policymakers
for avoiding response to productivity (Nickson, 2013). The present study focuses on the present
operations of the hospitality, tourism and event businesses. The socio- cultural and
environmental trends impact on these sectors are explained in this report. Furthermore, strategies
adopted by the organizations for addressing these trends are also discussed in this study.
Current operations of the chosen enterprise
The organizations that are selected under this hospitality, tourism and event industry in
