This paper explores the relationship between religion and ethics in Latin America through a case study of Archbishop Oscar Romero and El Salvador. Addressing four specific issues, the paper examines the interplay of recent history of the Catholic Church, theological thinking, diversification theory, and the impacts of internal change in relationship to globalization. The philosophy of liberation theory is emphasized as a means of addressing social concerns and political ideology of oppressing local people. The paper concludes that there existed a good relationship between the social and political system of Latin American.
