1. Outline of the Project
The local server rooms form a major integral part within every company. Despite of the
movement of IT hardware to different locations such as the cloud or datacentre, there would be many
cases in which the active network devices or stack of servers would be highly useful for the company.
The use of server rooms within the company forms a major critical aspect within any company. The use
of such kind of servers within the company would be highly required for bringing in efficiency of the
work processes. These server rooms are equipped with workstations, routers, large servers and many
other networked devices. This project discusses about the various forms of renovation changes that
would be made within the ABC Company.
The renovation project would incur the use of different forms of techniques that would require
a huge amount of planning. The communication plan, project risks and the project deployment phase
would be defined for the project. Based on the definition for the project, a post project review and
recommendations would be included for the project.
2. Requirements of the Project
The functional requirements that would be required for the project would include:
1. Technical Details – In the technical details, each of the necessities that would be required for
defining of the plan for the project would be defined.
2. Data Manipulation and Processing – In this process, the different forms of data would be
processed. This would help in gaining a clear understanding for the progress of the project.
3. Calculations – The different kind of calculations that would be performed during calculating
the costs of the project would be performed.
The non-functional requirements, which would be required during the project are:
1. Security – With the defining of the security aspects, the security within the server would be
defined during the renovation phase of the project.
2. Reliability – With the renovation of the server rooms, the factors of reliability would need to
be kept in mind. The new servers that would be implemented should be highly reliable in nature.

3. Performance Requirements – Different factors of performance based on renovating of the
server room would need to be defined. Based on defining of the performance, each of the criteria would
be defined that would be helpful for determining of the performance factors of the renovation phases.
3. Envisaged Project Team Members
The project team members who would be involved with the renovation phase of the project are:
1. Project Manager – The project manager should have skills based on understanding the
requirements described by the owner and thus should discuss with the technical development team
based on designing a plan for renovating the server room.
2. Technical Development Team – The technical development team should be responsible for
designing a technical plan for renovating the entire server room. They would plan the ways in which the
existing servers would be placed in a secure manner and thus the room would be renovated.
3. Quality Assurance Team – After the entire room has been renovated, the quality assurance
team would define plans for checking the quality of the systems.

4.2 Time Estimation of Project
The renovation project for the server room would be completed in 70 days.
4.3 Resource needs for Project
The different resources that would be required for the project are comprised of human
resources and technical resources that would be required for the project.
The human resources who would be required for the project would include the project sponsor,
project manager, technical development team and quality assurance team. The technical resources that
would be required for the project are servers, workstations, furniture, paints and new technical
equipment.

4.5 Estimation of Cost
The entire cost for the project would be AUD $ 174,800.
4.6 Plan Quality
The plan quality phase of the project would help in developing the quality aspects of the project.
Based on discussing over the plans for the project, the project manager would appoint the quality
assurance team for checking the quality systems for the project. The quality analyst who would be
responsible for the task would ensure that each of the phases that would be made over the project
would be checked for quality purposes. If any of the phases would remain uncleared for the project, the

quality analyst would help the technical development team in defining new aspects for the project. A
proper kind of planning would be defined based on checking over the quality of the systems. Ensuring
proper kind of planning for the quality of the systems would be considered to be highly important based

4.7 Stakeholder Analysis
During the management of stakeholders within the project, different kind of factors would be
taken into consideration. The stakeholders involved within the project would be considered to be highly
important for benefiting the project. The different stakeholders involved within the project would be
discussed as follows:
1. Project Manager – The project manager would define the various criteria in relation to the
renovation works of the project. They would prepare an analysis based on performing the works of
renovation.
2. Technical Development Team – The development team would procure the different materials
that would be in relevance to the development of the new room for placing the servers. During the
development phases, the technical team would prepare the objective of the project in a document and
would thus plan for the entire activity list of the project.
3. Quality Assurance Team – The quality analyst would engage with the project manager and
technical development team in every aspect of the project. They would look into the detailed aspect of
each of the phases. This would be helpful for them in ensuring that each of the phases defined for the
project would be completed successfully without any form of errors within the systems.

The communication plan that would be defined within the aspect of the project could be
defined as a simple and useful tool that would help them in enabling the ways in which the
communication over the project would be made. An efficient form of communication plan would help in
defining the type of communication that would be created with each of the team members of the
project. The creation of the communication plan would be able to set different forms of guidelines and
information for each of the team members involved within the project. They would also direct as who
would be responsible for maintaining communication in each of the sections of the project.

owners of the company. In this process, the project would be deployed to the owner and thus the server
room could be used again.

Based on the conclusions drawn over the project, it could be discussed that the project have
been completed successfully and as per proper planning. The project was also completed within the
proper delivery time and the pre-estimated budget of the project. However, the project could have been
defined much more accurately by elongating the time period for the project. This would have reduced
the costs incurred for the project.
