INTRODUCTION Business environment is a combination of internal and external factor such ascustomers, suppliers, government, employees and so on. The influence of these elementshaving a large impact on company’s current and future performance. This report will beexplaining about the different types of organization and its size and scope such as soleproprietorship, partnership, private limited firm, public enterprise and non-profit unit. Eachfirm is having its own legal structure and limitation according to the UK act (Asif and et. al.,2011). The present study is based on Marks and Spencer which is one of the leading retailunit in UK and other part of the world. Further, this report also discussing regarding variousorganizational function such as marketing, finance, HR and so on in order to attainingenterprise goals and target in an effective manner. SECTION 1TASK 1 P1 Different types and purpose of organisations with their legal structureThere are various organizations who conduct their business operation across theglobe. These all enterprise in different sector and support economic growth of a country in aneffective manner (Auzair, 2011). It can be categorising in to private, public, non-profitorganization having its different goals and objectives. Private: This is one of the major type of business which is legally registered according to theUK legislation. The main aim of these corporation is to earn profit through sellingproducts and services to its customers. These type of companies are highly contribute inenhancing GDP of the nation. Along with this, the main purpose of private companies isto expand their business activities in market place for establishing competitive brandimage. With the help of this, company can easily enhance their productivity level atmarket place. Further, it can be divided in to following area:Sole proprietorship: This type of business is owned and controlled by a single person andthey operate its business in a limited geographical area. The main purpose of theseenterprise is to earn money from its business. They not focused on the expansion of theiroperation due to lack of money (Carroll and Buchholtz, 2014). These types of units canbe operating grocery store, barbers, farmers etc.

Partnership: This is another type of business which is very significant and operated by morethan 2 individuals. They start their business to make money and share as par theagreement and pre planned manner. These business are also legally registered accordingto the UK act and should be followed government guidelines in an effective manner. Company: This is one of the most popular from of business which is managed by boards ofdirectors. These firms can be listed on the London stock exchange and owned byshareholders. The main of these firm is to expand their business in to a large area andtries to increase their markets share by providing a high quality goods and services in themarket. Private limited companies: These type of organizations are operating their business with theaim of generating larger profitability at market place. Along with this, liabilities of themembers are limited. Public limited Cooperatives: In this, the main purpose of this type of companies is to providequality services to the people with the aim of improving overall condition of the localpeople. This will directly contribute in creating social values. Purpose of private sector companies: The main purpose of these type of companies is togenerate profits to enhance their overall performance level. Along with this, privatecompanies are also provide job opportunities to the local people for improving theirliving standard. In this context, Marks and Spencer is private company which sell theirquality products and services for attaining higher profitability in m market. Public: These firm are working for the people provide a wide range of services to the publicat the affordable price. It is owned and managed by the government author tries which isfocusing on the public welfare rather than profit maximization (Dima, Grabara andModrak, 2014). Mainly, it also includes electricity, education, health care institution andmany more services. For instance, National Healthcare Services is a public companywhich provide health and social care to the public at large at the minimum cost.Legal structure: It is important for public organization to follow legal structure which consisttwo forms such as:Central government: These type of government regulate whole country. Along withthis, they also make rules and regulations for organization. Mainly the main purposeof these legal authorities is to collect taxes and print money.
