2REPORTa) IntroductionTheInland Revenue Department (IRD) of New Zealand Government has decided toadopt theData as a Service platform (DaaS) to conduct the business operations in their officepremises. The report has highlighted the two DaaS service providers. Those two DaaS serviceproviders have been compared. The best DaaS service provider that must be adopted by IRDhave been showcased. IRD also want to adopt IaaS and the report has detailed which IaaSservice provider IRD must choose. The security aspects of both IaaS and DaaS platform hasbeen elaborated in the report.b) DaaS Service Provider-VMware vSphereVMware vSphereprovides Data-as-a-Service for the service providers. VMwareprovides a DaaS platform both for the big data and traditional apps. The big datainfrastructure of any enterprise can be well managed by virtualization of big dataapplications. The virtualization of big data applications provides agile solutions as well ascost-effectivesolutions. VMware big data gives the advantage of virtualizing of big dataapplications like Hadoop. Hadoop offers a lot of advantages to the enterprises and IRD canget benefitted due to this (Layek, Chung & Huh, 2016). It is one of theeconomical serviceprovidersthat cater multiple advantages to the service providers. VMware VSphere assistsInland Revenue Department(IRD) in the following ways-i. VMware vSphere is responsible to provide many big data solutions like it can ease the datacentreoperations, vSphere has the capability to enhance the business activity as well (Li etal., 2016). vSphere can lessen the OpEx costs as well as the CapEx costings by means ofvirtualization.
3REPORTii. vSphere Operations Management can assist in providing the operations managementservice as well as automation service to the enterprises’ datacentre. IRD can measure theapplication performance.iii. vSphere provides the facility for the big data as well as the data applications. Thus IRDcan be benefitted from the existing data applications as well from the cloud apps (Fanning &Cannon 2015).iv. It also gives the facility to migrate to virtualized Linux from the IT legacy UNIXarchitecture. The DaaS platform has the capability to cater the greater performance, greaterVM capability.v. The DaaS platform provides enhanced performance for the modern apps as well as thetraditional apps. Thus IRD can use the apps, even get benefits while moving to the cloud.vi. It caters a single platform for maintaining Windows hosted applications. VMwareprepares a single management console for managing more than one workspace (Li et al.,2016). This management console can prove to be helpful for delivering the Windowsdataand applications from the cloud server.vii. The VMware is capable to retain the customer base. IRD can be highly satisfied due tothe agile effective performance it offers.viii. The DaaS platform of VMware VSpheres facilitates multiple users with networking, compute and storage.ix. The DaaS platform helps in creating and managing pools of applications within acoupleof minutes and this can facilitate IRD quite well. IRD will not have to know about theinfrastructure behind the platform (VMware VSphere, 2017). Even IRD will have to bearminimal cost while managing the virtualdataand applications.
