1 PROJECT NEED
The highways in the outskirts need development because it is a mode of transportation that is required for the betterment of communication. This
will facilitate the trade and commerce activities (Jones, Moura & Domingos, 2014). The highway in Newell is an integrate part of National Land
Transport Network. It is the main connecting point between Melbourne and Brisbane. It is a major link for the producers of the regional area in
the western as well as the central part of New South Wales (Infrastructureaustralia.gov.au., 2017).
1.1 PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this project is to improve the transportation facility in the outskirts of Australia by developing the road in the highway.
The objectives for this project are:
To complete the project within $300 million.
To complete the project within 4 years.
To improve the efficiency of the route.
To overcome the problem of congestion in the local area.
To align the road in a proper geometrical pattern.
To obtain a route that will enable the High Productivity Vehicles to travel.

To encourage the producers in the west and southern NSW to improve their productivity and trade via the highways.
Encourage government and other private investments.
To establish an efficient route that will remove all types of issues regarding safety that people face while travelling.
1.2 CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS (CSF’S)
Critical Success Factors are important for any type of project so that they produce the desirable outcome. These are the important factors that
help the project to get success and perform in an effective manner (Bingham, Asmar & Gibson, 2016). These are the main components that are
required for the project to achieve success. Before determining the critical success factors, one must find out the overall success factors of the
project.
The Critical Success Factors for this project are:
To attract investors who have funded in road development projects.
The weather conditions during the period of construction.
Support from the political party in the local area plays a major role in the success of the project.
