INTRODUCTION
Statistical Analysis is a process which involves collecting and scrutinizing each part of
data of a sample. It helps in evaluating the statistics from data and then analyses the outcomes
to ascertain the meaning of dataset which it wants to describe. This report will be focusing on
Eco Fone Smartphone company and the market study it has done regarding the use of
smartphone from year 2016 to 2017. Also the report will emphasizes on pros and cons
associated with business expansion idea of Eco Fone to Kingston. This report will further
focuses use of Poison distribution for solving the case related to quality procedures and its
fulfilments.

1.1 Analysis of Issues for Eco-Fone Smartphones
Over the past few years, use of mobile phones has increased worldwide. In UK the
mobile phone users who are employed in some business organization are using mobile phones
for the purpose of Email, making standards call including voice calls, for viewing documents
and also for managing calendar activities (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017). These
employees or workers are using their smartphones for completing their business related work
which is supported by smartphone. They use their smartphone for easy access and for using
business related information (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017). The application
which are not supported by smartphone or difficult to use in smartphone is having low usage
level such as reporting system, information related to legal work etc. Other application other
than official purpose, used by worker includes WhatsApp. Most of the business organization
uses application which are not announced for official use such as instant messaging, navigation
and photo application which focuses on work flow rather than focusing on Communication
process. (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017). Some of the workers uses smartphone
for submission of time sheet, expenses and for accessing intranet.
According to the workforce of UK includes, the millions of people have been using
smartphone both for professional and personal purpose (Consumer and Business usage pattern,
2017). The workforce considered smartphone as the ideal information device because it has a
characteristic of portable nature which provides or delivers all important and crucial
information, at a time in a handy manner, which the Personal Computers, tablets and even
laptops cannot provide (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017).
Many workers, individual employees who are engaged in a job profile such as retails
office employee, sales employee or traffic police, they are required to walk a lot and thus they
do not require to be connected to a desk or a PC or a tablet instead depends on smartphone for
their completing their business activity (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017).
Information is required to be received on a time for quicker response and better utilization of
such information for gaining competitive advantage, for which smartphone is considered as an
ideal device (Consumer and Business usage pattern, 2017).

From the above graph it can be evaluated that the company is having an increasing and
growing trend in the Smartphone as well as Tablet business (Tian, Ayers and et.al., 2017). The

business of Laptop is also growing but after some year it will be growing at constant rate. For
company it will be beneficial to continue its business of producing Smartphone as in coming
time period, more customer will demand smartphone with the best suitable and innovative
features and applications. So the company Eco Fone smartphone should focus on improving its
production and manufacturing process by minimizing cost of production and bringing in new
and better technology for maximizing profit level (Tian, Ayers and et.al., 2017).
1.3 Smartphones - A potential market for older customers.
Features of smartphones which attracts the older customers are as follows:
1. Big mobile phone screen with bright display – the big, sharp and bright screen of
smartphone have attracted many older customer to use smartphone as it will not
deteriorate the eyesight because of clear vision (Features of smartphones which attracts
older customers, 2018).
2. Face recognition – many smartphone nowadays come with features such as facial
recognition, finger touch lock for unlocking and locking of smartphone which is liked
by most of the older customer as it doesn't require any process of pressing buttons of
smartphone as well as they don't have to wear glasses for typing password (Features of

3. Easy user interface – using smartphone nowadays is very easy as it comes in many
language setup for use of customer. People can change the language of mobile phone

hospital appointments and reviewing hospital reports, booking of tickets etc. (Features

Poisson Distribution is defined as a discrete probability distribution which defines the
probability of occurring of a given number of events in a fixed interval of time, if these events
occur with a known constant rate and independently of the time since the last event (Dewliya
and Pathak, 2015). Importance of Poisson Distribution is that it helps in representing the
discrete counts of the occurrences of events on a continuous number of events or number of
time (Dewliya and Pathak, 2015).
By using poisson distribution, Eco Fone Smartphone company can improve and met its
quality procedures. As by conducting poisson distribution, the company can determines the
number of time the invoices will be returned in a given month (Dewliya and Pathak, 2015).
This will help the company in meeting its goals and objectives in an effective and efficient
manner. The company has to focus that which invoice is containing error and thus returning

From the above report it can be concluded that usage of Smartphone in everyday
activity has increased up to a certain level from past few years. This report has explained that
smartphone is that ideal device i.e. a mobile phone which can perform almost every activity a
PC or a tablet can do, it can perform that things which a normal mobile phone cannot do.The
report has discussed that smartphones has make it convenient for people of every age group to
surf online Smartphone devices are integrated with web browsers through which a person can
do official work such as email, view documents as well as can perform unofficial activity such
as making video calls, use WhatsAap or can research any topic by accessing websites anytime
and from anywhere. Uses of smartphone includes sending and receiving emails, video calls,
photographs etc. In this report, Eco Fone smartphone company can expand its business to
Kingston which will be viable for company in earning profit as well as customer base in near
future. Further this report has explained that how Eco Fone Smartphone company can use
poisson distribution for meting its quality procedures.
