Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi and
India Independence

ABSTRACT
The freedom movement after India Independence
has been progressively towards various ideas and
practices. The independence success depends upon
Mahatma Gandhi and his struggles which he faced
before independence. Leadership and culture are
inter related terms that influences a section of group
who are motivated to achieve a common goals. The
father of nation is a master strategist and a
exemplary leader with his struggles and skills
development during the time of independence.
The leadership style which is followed by Mahatma
Gandhi is follower centric and situational.

LEADERSHIP AND CULTURE
 According to Northouse, Leadership is defined as a concept of
influencing others or a group of individuals to achieve a common
goals and targets. Great leaders have many things in common as they
always influence and willingness to confront in management of time.
There is actual behaviour in essence of leadership.
 Culture may be defined as a norms, learning belief and traditions
which is common to number of people. It is social behaviour and
related norms that is founded in surrounding environment of societies.
 Mahatma Gandhi is one of most positive influential leader and
considered as a father of his country. In India independence, he
organised boycotts against britishers in form of civil disobedience.
