The park’s construction started in January 2009 and provides sport courts, playing fields, civic lawns, calm water area, playgrounds among other amenities. It is quite expansive and enjoined Piers 1-6 of Empire Fulton Ferry Park and Main Street Park. The park was a post-industrial water front and was first started to be constructed in January 2009. The Park got its first 6 acres opened in 2010 after its first phase completion in Pier 1 and it included the park’s lawn playground, the waterfront promenade and the granite prospect. This “granite

Surname 3prospect” consists of 300 pieces of granite that were gotten from Roosevelt island bridge during its reconstruction. Another 7 acres of the park which was on Pier 6 was opened in June 2010. The park is a good play for people to interact as it offers variety of amenities such as sport courts, playing fields, civic lawns, calm water area that provides kayaking and canoeing, playgrounds, bicycle paths e.t.c. The 85 acre park space that is the Brooklyn Bridge Park is enough space for people, leisure activities as well as offering enough ample car parking spaces. The specific function of the park is for people to meet and interact and have fun using the available amenities such as the sport courts, playing fields, calm water area for kayaking and canoeing and the ample playgrounds. Using this provisions people can meet in the park and interact without worrying on the limited space as the park is quite expansive and inclusive. I am interested in exploring this park in particular as it is interesting and it offers more that is parking option and interactive space. The park is a success as it is expansive in size given its 85 acre parkstretching 1.3 miles along the East river edge in Brooklyn and it’s enjoined with Piers 1-6 of Empire Fulton Ferry Park and Main Street Park. The existing condition of the site is that it is a vast area of about 8 acres of free land stretching 1.3 miles along the East river edge in Brooklyn. There are no existing inhabitants at the moment. The potential users of this project will be people of all diversity no limitations and more so people who want tohave fun and rest. The park offers leisure activities and amenities that will not limit people. Such leisure amenities are such as sport courts, playing fields, civic lawns, calm water area that provides kayaking and canoeing, playgrounds, bicycle paths etc. 3.3 PROGRAM SUMMARY: DESCRIBE YOUR PROJECT’S PROGRAM (use bullet points, not an essay: 8 PTS)Planting of trees and flowers all-round the park will be mandatory to create a brighter space and environment friendly.Ensuring there is ample security by putting up enough CCTV cameras in designated areasof the park especially in the car parking is to enhance security to enable people to be comfortable and enjoy themselves in peace.The park will be maintained after every 2 weeks and the grass planted is watered and mowed so that the area can be tidy. Ensure there is enough waste disposal facilities to keep the park tidy and clean as well as the natural environment.The park will have enough washrooms to facilitate the comfort of the people within to avoid people going in and out in search of such sensitive facilities. The amenities in the park such as water areas for kayaking, sports courts etc. should be environmental friendly and also safe to be used by the people. The park will have facilities and it will be all round conducive to people with special needs such as physically disabled by creation of ramps and special parking spots for them.The park will also have amenities and facilities that are favorable to small kids such as playgrounds for kids, kids’ cloakrooms etc. so that children can also visit and be comfortable.
