1. INTRODUCTION
Personal development is the process of development of range of skills, abilities and
qualities, that an individual decides on building in a particular time, so that one can lead an
efficient and quality lifestyle and can also make desirable level of progress in career as well
(Lishman, 1998). This report is a short note, or can also be called an attempt, for identifying key
areas for development, which I should be developing and those areas which are impactful over
my personal growth and career. Along with identifying such areas, I have made valuable
discussions on them, to foster path and purpose relevant with them. Also, the skills here are
supported by useful time frame in which it has to be achieved.
2. Define the concept of personal and professional development
Personal development can be regarded as one of the very complex processes, but a very
highly beneficial one, that an individual desires to undertake for development within himself.
Together taking the concept of Personal and professional development and individual can
vitally notice two different kind of concept in this one concept, where one is related to
Personal and behavioral development relate to that individually completely, and the other is
professional development necessary for an individual in bringing up development in
professional life. Both of these two different concepts meant for an individual differently in
different contexts, but they both are studied in head of a single concept. In this one bigger
concept both concepts of two different nature can be seen fulfilling each other and pushing
each other as well. Making the understanding of concept of Personal development more
useful, it can be said that through personal development I shall be developing those qualities
and capabilities in me, which are enabling for me in becoming a better human being,
desirable by many requirement of social and other levels. However, the concept also desires
that, when an individual decodes on making personal development of one that individual
should better be knowing the qualities already possessed by him or her, so that any further
decision can better be taken after effective evaluation and comparison. Through comparison
and evaluation, an individual could know that, under personal development upon which
qualities and skills he or she has to work more, which of them are affluently required more
