INTRODUCTION Personal development is defined as the life long process that enables an individual to improve their skills and qualities which helps to attain determined goals and objectives with great potentiality. Personal development includes various activities that helps an individual to develop their personal qualities, build human capital, enhance quality of life as well as facilitates employ ability. Professional development is defined as the set of tools, resources as well as training session that improves their professional quality and effectiveness. It is related to the learning the helps am individual to maintain their professional credentials in academic work and professional life (Tyler, 2018). There are various approaches are used for professional development such as coaching,technicalassistance,monitoringandvariousothersforimprovingprofessional knowledge, skills and effectiveness. TASK 1 Personal and professional development Short-term goals are defined as the goals that an individual want to achieve in near future or accomplish soon such as today, this week and this month. Achievement of short-term goals helps an individual to attain long-term goals in efficient manner. Accomplishment of short-term goals helps an individual in various manner such as it boosts motivation, provide clear direction and promote career success. In order to become a well-organized person, I want to improve my organization and time- management skills through developing systematic and organized time-table. My short-term goal is improving writing skill for getting good marks in exam. I want to improve my communication skill through reading books and journals. Medium-term goals Medium-term goals are defined as the goals that takes a bit longer time to achieve than short-term goals and helps an individual to keep their motivation towards long-term goals. Time- scale of medium-term goal is between 18 to three years. With the help of these goals, a person achieves their goals and objectives with efficiency and effectiveness (Ahmed, 2018). Some medium-term goals are mentioned below: I want to become an efficient and effective leader in well reputed organization.
My medium-term goal is to improve my IT skills for using digital technologies. I want to improve my business skill through completing my business management course. Long-term goals Long-term goals are referred as the goals that an individual want to achieve in future. To accomplish long-term goals significant amount of time, efforts and planning is required. These goals are not achieved in months or even this year it takes several time to accomplished. Long- term goals are related to career goals, financial goals and personal goals (Adnan, 2018). These goals help an individual to concentrate on career objectives as well as provide reasons to work constantly towards attaining desired career achievement. My long term goals are My long-term goal is to become successful businessman in well repudiated organization. I want to purchase a big bungalow from my own money.
