Distraction and interruption can impact the flow of work and also impact performance.
The aim of present study is to understand to understand the impact of distraction on service
provider, nurses etc so that they can deliver quality of care to patient with proper safety. Reason
for selecting this topic is that it is one of the major healthcare concern. Patient safety is important
for the firm and there are various type of issues which can be faced while providing care.
Distraction can be improved in order to develop communication skills of doctor, nurse etc. All
the three studies focused on providing impact of distraction for patient safety in health and social
care. Effective services assist in reducing the chances of error and mishap which can be occurred
art the time of providing care. From the study it is analysed that there are many health care
organisations who do not undertake any of the action due to which patients unable to received
quality services. Interruption and distraction lead to impact the way of working. It is important to
use effective method in health and care organisation at the time of providing services. Second
article was based on a mixed systematic literature review in which total 24 studies were
identified. Among them 16 are quantitative and 8 qualitative. From the primary research article,
people need to provide services without any interruption. Music and teaching junior colleagues
were also mentioned as potential sources of distractions, albeit on a smaller scale. At last in study
which is based on organisational context provide wide range of information related to the
significance of minimizing interruption and distraction. There are most of the health care

improving the quality of care. It has been noticed that safety of patient is become one of the
major healthcare concern in health care organisations. Patient safety is the important part of
modern healthcare services as it assists in improving quality of care. Error can be occurred but in
recent year evidence has shows that errors which can affect the services users are more common.

The aim of present study is to understand significance of reducing distraction to service provider,
nurses etc so that they can deliver quality of care to patient with proper safety. Reason for
selecting this topic is that it is one of the major healthcare concern. Patient safety education
focuses on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitude for supporting a changing behaviour
in order to deliver safe care. Patient safety principles includes non technical skills that are not
discipline specific and it is applicable to all healthcare professionals. Distraction and interruption
are common on the health care setting. Distraction also lead to create impact on the development
of critical incidents. In order to ensure that all patient received quality services it is important to
avoid any kind of distraction while providing treatment
Analysis
The first article which is analysed is based on primary research which is conducted by
Arfanis, Campbell and Smith, (2012). Under this study one to one interview was conducted with
different educations experts within NHS and international focus. A semi-structures interview was
conducted with consultant anaesthetist. Questions were focused on type of distraction at various
stages.
Result of the interview revealed that reducing distraction strategies not adopted by
healthcare professional on time. However, some of them received section related to learn

anaesthetist and Learning to manage one's attention. Further it is analysed that most of the
respondents are utilising simulation in their method (McCurdie, Sanderson and Aitken, 2017).
There are some barriers which are faced by employees. According to them health care
professional are main sources of distraction. At last few recommendations was provided by
author in its study. It is recommended that effective techniques need to be included in every
organisation. Quality can improve skills and knowledge of health professionals and it is related

step is based on organisational context. To analysed the collected study all the organisational
documents were gathered. In data collection method it includes all the organisational document

minutes. From the entire study it is analysed that in NHS reducing distraction strategies is
provided to employees in order to make sure patient safety (Slagle, Porterfield and Weinger,
2018). In the health and social organisation patient safety is become one of the major concern
and it is important to ensure that each and every employee within the firm get treated in an

range of focussed tool and cultured theory. Distracting is classified into three that that are
potential distraction interruption and distraction. Further in an innovative approach of reducing
distraction lead to includes simulation in which all professional groups are trained and learn
together the way to improve safety of their collective work (Grundgeiger, Dekker and Aitken,
2016). Apart from this within the health and social care organisation there are significant
changes take place and it is essential to adopt them on time. With the help of simulation
approach there is chance to reduce error which can occur while providing treatment.

From the above report it is concluded that patient safety is important concern for health
care organisation. If healthcare professional, nurses and staff members are well trained then they
can easily deliver quality services to service users. There are different types of strategies facility
which can be provided to healthcare profession while carrying out their education and post
graduation. It plays significant role as it help in reducing the chances of error which can occur
