INTRODUCTION
Skills are the ability or expertise which enable the individual to find solution for their
problems. It enables the person to develop the skills to excel in their field at any point of the
career. There are many skills which helps in succeeding in all aspect of life (Tracey and et.al
2019). Report writing refer as the concise document which is based on the research which
analysed the particular situation, this skill allows the individual to write down the report with
zero error. This skill helps in shaping the career in authors, report writers and in journalist job. It
is important skill which creates the strength for designing, arranging and making judgements.
Following report will cover the report writing strength and weakness by using example. It also
covers the four writing factors.

Report writing strength and weakness
For proper report writing it is important follow all the rules as to keep the information
simple and in concise manner so that it can be easily understood by the readers. Utilisation of the
active voice are important to make the writing smooth and easy. There should be no use of the
slang and empty word which can confuse the reader also there should be short sentences to give
the proper understanding about the topic. Following report writing which is based on the topic
“Whether private school should be abolished”.
Structure As strength: For any report its structure plays an important role as it looks great to
the reader so that they continue or begin reading the report content. Structure of the report should
be start with the order where it starts with the title page, table of content, executive summary,
introduction, discussion, conclusion and references. It is the appropriate order which improve the
appearance of report. For the report of private school should be abolished (Nimehchisalem and
et.al 2018). Report is written in well structure which is its strength it follows all the rules of
report writing, thus it is the strength of the report. A well written structured allows the reader to
completely follow the argument and easily navigate the content. In report writing clear structure
are efficient for the cohesive text. Thus following example is written in appropriate manner
which mainly consider the two point in favour or in against about the private school. Throughout
the report it discusses the benefits of abolishing private school to maintain the education

equality, but also discuss its drawback as if the private schools should be abolished then it
heavily impacts the state resources.
Good structure helps the reporter to describe the information in well manner or with this
they can easily decide the right position for putting the ideas and facts. As the report writing is
not a easy task it deals with the issues and problems, in such it is important to write down the
fact full data which helps the reader to keep their focus on the report content. An structure helps
in playing a good role for communicating the information and allow the reader to find and read
the information quickly and efficiently. For reader’s understanding it is important for the reporter
to write down the sentences in short and in precise manner.
Grammar weakness: Grammar is the appropriate way for arranging the words that forms the
proper sentence. Where the words Grammar covers the verbs, tenses and nouns while sentence
Grammar covers the clauses, phrases etc. it gives the meaning in sentence so that it can be
understood. It is the system and well structure of the language, its rules allows to decide the word
order. In context with the report writing Grammar is used as the formal style where the first
person words can be avoided which are I, me, my. For the report writing it is important to use the
well language and tone that is come with the proper grammar which helps in making the
audience understood of specific topic (Pearson and et.al 2020). Major weakness is highlight in
the report is improper grammar, as for an example it is found that there are some grammar
mistakes, as there is a spelling mistake which are (“purpoise, reemoval, privatly, rezources etc.”)
these are the words which is found in the report as spelling errors. Also at some point it is found
that language is not appropriate as it is not easily understood by the reader. As for the report it is
important to use the simple language and to select the grammar for proper wording which makes
the sense. Thus grammar is the weakness of this report because of the spelling mistakes. Also
found that in the report some sentences are very large which cannot be easily understand. Thus
for the better report writing it is important to place the write grammar so that sentence makes the
sense. Also there is punctuation mistake is also identified in the report as commas, period,
brackets and exclamation are not at the right place. As the better grammar will give the
likelihood that reader gets the intention and meaning of the sentence, which shows the better
communication.

Clarity Weakness: It refer as the clearness and the lucidity for developing understanding, it
gives the freedom from any kind of confusion and misconception. For the report it is very
essential that the information should be written in clarity or transparent manner so that reader
audience not get confused with the content. It mainly depends on the organised manner of the
facts, as the placing of the words in appropriate manner and right selection of the word so it
gives the clarity. A good report must be clear and concise so that it directly targets the audience
to read it and understand it. No reader will be able to understand the content which does not give
the clarity, most of the cases it is found that some author uses the tough wordings and improper
grammar there is no such clarity is found thus reader can’t read such content which do not give
the proper information (Palpanadan and et.al 2021). As per the report example there is a no
proper clarity in the report. As there is a mistake in sentence structuring, as overall structure is
good but some sentences are very long which is not giving the clear information. As there are
some instances which shows that there is lack of understanding about the sentences such as what
should be the consequences can be seen if the private school should be abolished, as it gives the
more pressure on state government as they need to increase the availability of the resources to
provide it to the students. It is also found that some paragraph are written in same spacing line
but some are written in distinct space which is causing problem in understanding the content. In
order to write the good report, it is important to show the clear purpose and better description of
the resources, it helps the reader to understand the aim of the information so that they can
develop the interest to read out the report.
Relevancy strength: Relevancy refer as the appropriateness in information as for the report
writing it is important to have relevancy in the information as it must have some sort of
seriousness and accuracy so that reader can easily develop the understanding about it. It plays an
important role for the report as no one can read the information when it is not relevant or up to
the point. Irrelevant report cannot consider by the reader audience, as ultimately aim of the report
writing is to provide the valid and relevant information which gives the deeper understanding
(Tamin, 2020). Another strength of this report is found as its relevancy. As per the example it is
relevant the report written in the good manner, data is also relevant which do not found as
irrelevant. As it discuss the issue in appropriate manner, as private school usually creates the

barrier and inequality between the people, it shows that most of the parents are not able to afford
the fees of the private school so they prefer the state school also in private school there are better
infrastructure and teaching facilities for the student. Thus in this example the information is
relevant and gives the proper understanding.
Recommendations
Although the report is written in the appropriate manner, but it is found that the reporter
has made the grammar mistakes, as some words are not proper as well as spelling mistake was
also there. It is suggested to the reporter to proofread the content when it is done it is important
to review the content again so that improvement can be made. Other recommendation can be to
keep the sentences short and simple, avoid using of the slang language which cause the
confusion. Also to develop focus on the punctuation (Ekpo). For the reporter it is also
recommended to clear the purpose first and to make sure to write it in brief or concise manner
which involve the necessary information so that it gives the better impression over the reader.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that for the report writing it is important to follow
all its rule in appropriate manner. Above report have illustrated the description of the example
and it also discuss the four report writing factor to made the judgement over the report example.
Above report have discussed the factor which are structure, grammar. Clarity and relevancy,
which have the major impact over the report. As it suggests that for the good report it is essential
to follow appropriate structure which have proper grammar and sentence which gives clear
understanding. Lastly report concluded with some recommendations that is made for the reporter
in order to follow all rules to produce the relevant report in future.
