INTRODUCTION
Within the organization, there are different type role and responsibilities that has to be
played by them in order to achieve the goals and objectives. It is importance for the management
to make sure that they performance the given take by workers effectively and efficiently (Pang,
Zheng and Chen, 2015 ). Further, it is essential for the management to deliver their employees
with healthy environment in which they will be perform their roles. Present report is about
mining industry at Tasmania. It was in the year 1834 when first successful mine was developed
in South Est of island at Plunkett. There are different type of health related issues that are being
faced by employees working at mining. In order to overcome this issues Mobile Medical Health
Screening System (MMHSS ) is being established that will enable to reduce the risk that are
faced by workers. In mining firms, there are different set of operations that are developed and
these are helpful to consider the goals that are set by the firm. Risk that are involved in this are
accidents, gas explosions, dust, noise, etc. This report covers, identification of system boundary
on the context diagrams and then describing it in functional and physical terms. Further , in
includes identification at least five significant system-level trade studies associated with project.
Lastly, it also includes providing details for 5 functional requirements.
5. Draw system-level context diagrams for the operational view. Identify the system boundary on
the context diagrams and then describe it in functional and physical terms
This is in considering the given case study of Mining Tasmania that is concerned about
their health and safety measures at the workplace which are not reflecting an adequate approach
of the associated stakeholders in the organisation. Due to which, some severe accidents are
taking place on regular basis and is harming the workers to a great extent (Chadwick, 2013). For
this purpose, a prompt need of Mobile Medical Health Screening System (MMHSS) has been
identified that will consider ensuring a secured work system for the deputed employees in
Mining Tasmania. Herein, the elements of operational view has been undertaken to create a
system level context diagram with further scrutinization of each of the referred elements. This
has been undertaken for the well being of the mining workers where they are often required to
face terrible accidents either because of their own faulty measures or due to some faulty
occurrence in the machineries they are using.
It is therefore referred to be a prime responsibility of the stakeholders associated with the
cited firm to take some considerable measures for the benefit of their designated workers. It is

therefore with the help of a designed MMHSS, the organisation can hereby refer to provide a
mini health screen to their on site workers in the mines that will also not disrupt into their day to
day working practices (Expósito, Gomez-Exposito, Conejo and Canizares, 2016). It is basically
due to the fact where mining involves several petite checks that are required to be done for a
comfortable working of the employees on the site. Also, underground working is specified to be
yet another prompt need in the field of mining where many workers associated with some sort of
health related issues faces several challenges to adjust into the environment of their subsurface
sites.
It is thus important for the associated bodies of the mines to always be conscious about
the occurrences taking place in the sites to avoid any chance of mishap. For a similar purpose,
this section has discoursed upon the proposal of MMHSS in Mining Tasmania. It has been done
with the help of a system level system diagram to demonstrate the involved set of elements in it
(Hatley and Pirbhai, 2013). This mainly refers to both external and internal stakeholders of the
quoted entity where they will be directly responsible for a successful operation of the proposed
system of MMHSS. In context to which, some prompt elements that have been found from the
operational point of view that involved gate-checker, workers employed for on site work, site
manager, central controlling authority, rescue workers as internal organisational bodies will play
a major role.
However, the designed MMHSS will together involve some external parties such as
medical practitioners and hospital authorities in the mobile van to provide instant medical
assistance to the victims like provisioning first aid, etc. After which, the rescue workers will also
help the injured persons to reach hospital on time for further treatments, if required (Lubega and
Farid, 2014). It is however on discoursing upon the mobile clinic, it will represent a seating of 25
purpose built in structure of Mobile clinic to altogether assist the victims with an estimated ratio
of 25. It will be together supplemented by a substructure of authorized medical centres where all
services will be provisioned in accordance to the clinical standards that are applicable in the
chosen area of Tasmania. Also, the outcomes will be overviewed by a Consultant Occupational
Doctor.
Apart from this, a firm medico judicial standard will be developed after principally

to report nay incident of mishap. Rescue workers- These are also referred as internal organisational bodies who will be
helping the injured workers in case of any accident, etc., and will together assist them to
reach the mobile van. Suppliers- These are the external stakeholders who will be responsible to supply the
requisite medical equipments in the mobile van in case of emergency where there exists
such exigent setting and the equipments are not available in the mobile van. Medical practitioners- These are also yet another important part of external stakeholder
appointed in the mobile van to look into the MMHSS who are accountable to provide
proper treatment to the injured workers. Hospital- This is mainly in context to the mobile van in which the injured workers will
be treated.

6. Listing system interfaces and the label them on the context diagram for the ‘ Operational
View’
Assumptions: In order to start with the new system there are different type of issues that
are being faced by people. With this respect, it is important for the team to make sure that they
identify external interfaces so that they are able top develop proper plan through which the
objectives that are set can be achieved ( de Blok, Meijboom and Schroeder, 2014). To cover this
question, all type of external interfaces will be listed and their impact on the system will be
stated. There are different set of considerations that will be made in perspective of assumptions.
It is important for the system to identify interfaces so that proper steps can be determined that
will enable to achieve their desired goals. In order to understand the assumptions more clearly,
below given are the list of assumption that are being made :

There is positive impact on
the design as it enables to

involved to consider that
tools are used properly so
that all the external
interfaces can be identified.
There will not be much of
the different that will take
place. However, it will help
the system when the tools
are proper used (Green,

here is no effective analysis
made for the same (Grajales,

).
4 All the interfaces that are
identified will be analysed
and appropriate strategies will
be developed that will help to
make improvement in the
system.
When proper analysis is not
made, then it becomes
difficult for the system to

manner.
When there are proper
analyses made, then it
becomes helpful to identity
the interfaces and this will
bring changes in the design.

being set.
The main cause of problem
is faced by the system when
the individuals who is to
determine the interfaces is
not skilled. If changes are
not properly made, then it
has negative impact.
As discussed above, there
will be changes made in the
design when list of external
interfaces are identified
(Wager, Lee and Glaser,
2017 ).
As per the analysis made, there are different type of external interfaces that are listed.
These are helpful for the system to achieve their set goals and objectives . With this respect,
below given are the external interfaces:
External Interface Description
Environment These are considered to be the environment in which the system is being
developed. As per the findings, it is identified that each and every mining
site is a mix of office and heavy industrial background (McPherson, Kayes
and Cummins, 2014). The type of heavy machineries that are used
increases the rate of risk on which employees work. Workers are exposed
to high temperature up to 35 – 45 degrees Celsius . Further, the type of
noise is ridiculously high that are faced by employees. All these issues have
increased the risk of health related problems. More specifically, there are

about three different type of climatic areas which are North-West Coast,
West Coast and North-East Coast. All the areas vary climatic changes and
this brings upon the changes within the type of services that are delivered
(Castiglione, Pizzolante and Palmieri, 2015 ).
Visitors Different type of health related issues are identified by people in which
they have made analysis that mining can brought them serious health
related issues and these can be effectively minimised with the system that
is to be introduced ( Catarinucci, De Donno and Tarricone, 2015). There
are different type of health related treatments that MMHSS are willing to
deliver. There are risk that are faced by employees when they do not have
proper understanding for the type of roles that they have play. In such
condition that type of risk that are faced by them can cause serious health
related issues due to the machineries that are used. In addition to this, it
contains problems like accidents, flood , Gas explosions, chemical leakage,
dust, etc.
Government Around the world there are different type of policies that are imposed by
the government and it is essential for the firm to follow them so that
interest of people can be maintained (Mandl, Mandel and Kohane, 2012).
With this process, there are conditions in which the policies are not enough
favourable for the system. With this respect, there needs to have effective
analysis made so that they will be able to develop their plan in such a way
that the system may not get negatively get affected ( Zhong, Ma and Chen,
2016). Government policies are developed in order to make sure that all the
people within the area are provided with proper health related services so
they will be able to overcome them.
Suppliers They are the one who made sure that all the materials that are required in
order to provide proper care to the employees are done in effective manner
(Amante, Hogan and Lapane, 2015 ). For example, from one of the
functions that MMHSS has planned to deliver is proper training to people
so that they will be able to develop their preference for the services and

is to be introduced ( Catarinucci, De Donno and Tarricone, 2015). There
are different type of health related treatments that MMHSS are willing to
For example, from one of the
functions that MMHSS has planned to deliver is proper training to people
so that they will be able to develop their preference for the services and

they themselves will be able to take care of their health. For this purpose, it
required the system to have proper supply of professionals who will be able
to make sure that the set objectives will be achieved. Further, there are
different type of tools that are required so that all the individuals who are
identified with the health issues can be delivered with high quality services
(Piro, Cianci and Camarda, 2014).
Among the above, given external interface, proper emphasis will be done for the visitors.
For this respect , it is important to have skilled workers who will be able to understand the type
of issues that are faced by them (Green, Abbott and DiGiacomo, 2016 ). On the other hand, in
case the people involved in MMHSS are not properly skills, then they will not be able to provide
proper services to them. In such condition it is important for the system to hire workers who care
support in achieving the goals and objectives that are set to complete the system. There are
certain set of risk or serious problems that are faced by employees working in mines. In this
context, one of the serious issues is related with the type of heavy machineries that are used by
them. There are conditions when workers are not able to make proper use of them, then it
increases the risk of getting serious injuries. Further, the machines in order to conduct the
operations of mining, it contains high noise due to which it creates noise pollution (Grajales,
Sheps and Eysenbach, 2014 ). Another type of issues is flood, it is generally high for the people
who work underground. During the time of digging, there are condition in which water get out
and it creates the situation of flood. This is the condition in which medical assistance is required
that will be helpful enough to make people safe and to make them reach to hospitals. Gas
explosions, contains methane gas that can lead to explosion (Wager, Lee and Glaser, 2017).
When these gases are inhaled, then it creates issues for health. These type of risk is high at the
coal mining areas and for this purpose, it requires to have time to time monitoring.
Further, it contains chemical leakage, this is because there are different type of chemicals
that are used in mines. This is done in order to transform ores from natural state. These
chemicals have negative impact over body when there is direct contact with it (McPherson,
Kayes and Cummins, 2014) . Moreover, the amount of dust that is faced by employees working
at mining is high and this causes serious issues.

For all these healths related issues that are faced by people can be reduced when the type
of system that is being implemented. There accidents that are caused and just because people do
not get proper health related assistance creates problem and even death as they do not get
immediate assistance (Castiglione, Pizzolante and Palmieri, 2015) . However, when this system
will be implemented, then it becomes favourable enough to reduce the rate of risk at high extent.
All the above mentioned external interfaces are helpful for the system to achieve their
goals and objectives. With this, there will be changes that will occur in the design that is
developed for the proper operational functions of the system. Among all these equal importance
need to be provided are adequate consideration to be made for the policies that are developed by
the government ( Catarinucci, De Donno and Tarricone, 2015). In addition to this, there needs to
have healthy relationship developed with government so that there is proper development made
for the growth of the system.
Conclusion
From the above, made interpretation, it can be determined that there are different type of
external interfaces that are involved. All these are helpful for the system to make sure that
affective strategies are developed that will jointly support the system to get completed in
effective manner. There are four different type of interfaces that are identified. All of them
highly important and all of them need to be considered by the system. Among all these one of the
effective consideration is made for visitors . They are the one who will make use of the services.
When they understand the requirement of the business, then it becomes favourable enough to
provide them with high quality services. It is also important for all the professional who are hired
have high understanding for the type of roles and responsibilities that they have to play. When
they do not have proper understanding, then it creates problem in order to make sure that all the
problem or the risk that are faced by them can be solved effectively and efficiently.
