that study. Based on the EHR tool usage and the implementation of the tool in the interaction and
communication between the nurse and the patient. The whole paper would comprise of the
PICOT question for the study and the qualitative study on the EHR tool usage. Some critical
article on the context justifies the effectiveness of the tool and the topic. Finally, the summary of
the whole matter in the concluding paragraph will be explained too.

Background
Electronic health record (EHR) is the part of the modern day health care tool that helps in
the documentation of the patient data. The EHR is a collective term for the electronic devices
that help in the data collection of the patient's health condition. In modern nursing techniques,
the use of the EHR is one of the mandatory aspects and tends to help the nurses in improved
interaction and communication with the patient after the implementation of the data collected.
The qualitative study needed to perform as the qualitative research would help to gather
knowledge about the actual situation and the beliefs of the nurses and the patients in this context.
The qualitative study would be dependent on the research question that is the PICOT question
that considers the aspect of the target population, intervention, comparison, outcome and time
(Abbade, Wang, Sriganesh, Mbuagbaw & Thabane, 2016). On the other hand, the aspect of the
ethical consideration also needs to be taken into account for the qualitative study. In the
following sections, the summarisation of the Qualitative research and the ethical consideration
along with the PICOT question will be done.
