INTRODUCTION60 to 65 year age is considered as starting phase of old age. Advancement in technologiesand medical facilities have improved life expectancy rate of population. Statistical records of2006 show that there are 688 million elderly people across the world. Elderly womenexperiences low confidence as compare to young ladies (Pourghane, 2017). Physical exercisehelps them in improving their medical condition and living quality of life as well. Hydrotherapyis the most effective treatment process that is generally applied on old age people. In this therapymedical professional make the person able to do physical exercise in warm water. Individual cando movements in water with great intensity than lands. This builds confidence of the elderlywomen and it supports in their balance confidence (Elderly Women's experience of the role ofHydrotherapy in health: Content Analysis, 2017). This is considered as important topic because increasing awareness among elderlywomen can support in making them positive and decreasing negative experiences among them.This topic can enhance knowledge of nurses about hydrotherapy so that they can take care oftheir health and can provide them accurate treatment that can assist in their balance confidence(Mateen and et.al, 2017). There are many old ladies those do not have much confidence to livetheir life independently. Thus, they are highly depended upon their family members. Thistheoretical knowledge can assist them in knowing about the therapy that can enhance theirconfidence and can minimize their negative experiences so that they can live a healthy life in thisage (Elderly Women's experience of the role of Hydrotherapy in health: Content Analysis, 2017).AimThe purpose of present study is to explore role of hydrotherapy in balancing confidenceof elder women.LITERATURE REVIEWAs per the view of Pinto, (2017) hydrotherapy is the treatment which is known as watercure medical care. It is alternative medical process in which physical properties of water arebeing taken into consideration by the medical professionals. The main agenda of applying thiscare on old age people is to stimulate their blood circulation. Johnson, Nokomis and Stark,(2017) argued that there are many old age ladies those who are unable to live life happilybecause of their poor health conditions. In the age of 60 to 65 year these women have to sufferfrom many illnesses or disease. That decreases their confidence. But doing exercise in warm1
water help in improving their blood circulation which assist in minimizing issues in their bodies.By this way they can live a healthy life in this age. This healthy or quality life improve theirconfidence to great extent (Elderly Women's experience of the role of Hydrotherapy in health:Content Analysis, 2017). According to Noordin, Ahmad and Baharin, (2015) There are certain medical problemsthat are faced by old age women only. They have to gone through huge pain in muscles,weakness in body, impaired balance etc. Exercise in warm water impacts positive on their health.Hydrotherapy allows some specific physical activities that can not be done on land. This exerciseassists in minimizing their dependence and builds their confidence as well. Pourghane, (2017)stated that this therapy is helpful for the ladies those who are suffering from chronic heart failure.This medical care procedure improved patient's performance and life quality as well. It is factthat if the elder women attend 12 week water aerobics program then they can avoid issues ofextremity osteoarthritis (Elderly Women's experience of the role of Hydrotherapy in health:Content Analysis, 2017). Hydrotherapy is beneficial in improving balance and increasingconfidence of old people. PICO questionsPatients (P)Elderly women are patients whose age isbetween 60 to 65 year. These women face theissue of low confidence.Intervention (I)Hydrotherapy intervention is being considered.Control (C)Rest and family support is another comparisonmethod that can be applied in order to balanceconfidence of elder women.Outcome (O)Improvement in confidence of elder women. THEORETICAL METHODOLOGYThe present study qualitative in nature, this qualitative researches help in providing in-depth understanding about exploring role of hydrotherapy in balancing confidence among elderwomen. Considering the major research question that what is the role of hydrotherapy and whatis the experience of elder women for this therapy researcher has applied conventional qualitative2
