In the year 2017, it had 88 million passengers and 2.65 million tonnes of cargo and registered 409, 493 aircraft movements.The Dubai international airport is located in the AI Garhoud district. The terminal 3 is the considered to be the second-largest building in the world in terms of floor space and largest airport terminal in the world.The Dubai Airports Company operates the airport and is the home baser of the International airlines of Dubai.This is an important contributor in the economy of Dubai because it employs 90,000 people approximately and support the 400,000 jobs indirectly.It contributes more than US$ 26.7 billion in the economy that represents around 27 % of the GDP of Dubai. In the year 1937, the civil aviation of Dubai began after signing anair agreement. Airport ownership and governance The Dubai International Airport has been the winner of the Best Airport in Middle East Award consecutively for four years.
