Literature Review
Various issues pertaining occupational safety and health programs among different employees is
something that has been gaining popularity across many regions in the world. Occupational
safety and health programs on the performance of various employees is capable of coming on
board with a wide range of effects that tend to expose the employees towards certain
environmental conditions that might alter the way they carry out certain activities within their
work environments. On the other hand, occupational safety appears to be of of the most
fundamental disciplines that deal with various parameters with an intention of eradicating
various conditions that are known to be attached to disease and injuries thereby promoting the
health conditions of various employees within an organization (Goldenhar et al. 2016).
Currently, various top management officials are coming on board to implement a wide variety of
occupational safety and health programs among the employees within their respective
organizations (Dave 2016). This is a move that aims towards fully addressing various health
issues that might be attached to the employees themselves as a result of the nature of the
surrounding environment thus ensuring that the lives of the employees are safe at all times in
order o make the entire organization to achieve a specific set of goals and objectives within the
stipulated time frame (Aidan Doyle 2016). As a result of the recent occupational accidents that
has been experienced across various organizations that are located in different parts of the world,
this has enabled quite a number of management officials to put much focus on some of the
importance associated with a wide range of health and safety practices that are being
implemented under various conditions. Moreover, improving the productivity of all the

employees together with their occupational health and safety has emerged as one of the most
essential field on interest across various countries in the world most so in the developing
countries. Some of the common characteristics that are attached to such industries majorly
include an inappropriate workplace design together with a wide variety of ill structured jobs
(Francisco 2016). According to the information extracted from social exchange theory, various
workers are known to have the capability of demonstrating commitments and even go as far as
performing to a certain extent where they believe that they are benefiting from most of the
activities that tend to be attached to their respective organizations. On the other hand, the
international labor organization together with world health organization has always been on the
fore front with an intention of improving the well-being and security of various workers who are
known to be situated in different places across the world. Several other organizations too have
also been able to come on board to adequately analyze some of the effects that are likely to
emerge as a result of the implementation of occupational health and safety programs of various
employees. Occupational safety and health programs has in deed brought about one of the most
significant changes as far as the performance of various employees is concerned (Anon. 2016).
In any given work place environment, health and safety issues are some of the major essential
parameters that are capable of adequately protecting the lives of various employees and even
going as far as showing them some of the things that they should do in order to keep themselves
safe at all times. It is indeed clear that a wide range of hazards are present in the current
environment of today. Due to this, it is the job of all the employers to ensure that the lives of all
their employees are kept safe at all times thereby eliminating them from the hazards that are
likely to take place as a result of various operations within the workplace (Tullar et al. 2012). It
is a job that is so important to an extent that various relevant bodies have been able to come on
