Title of the Project
To determine the need of providing training and development to the health care
professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19. A study on National Health Services (NHS)
UK.
Introduction
The present study mainly initiates to determine the need of rendering training and
development to the health care professionals in the pandemic of COVID-19. However, training
and development are considered to be the most imperative aspect of human resources
management, thus it is imperative in aiding the entire business in right direction to attain higher
growth and success (Moreno And et. al., 2020). COVID-19 is a newly originated virus and
defined as an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered corona virus. Most people infected
with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover
without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems
like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to
develop serious illness. Corona is a highly infected virus and in this pandemic a suitable process
of training and development is imperative for the health care professionals to enhance the
operation of the business. In this present analysis the study is based on NHS, thus The National
Health Services is the umbrella term for the publicly funded health care system of the United
Kingdom. Since 1948 they have been funded out of general taxation. There are four systems, one
for each of the four countries of the UK: The NHS in England, NHS Scotland, NHS Wales and
Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland. They were established together in 1948 as one of the
major social reforms following the Second World War (Druss, 2020).
Rationale of the Research
The research into consideration is based on the aspect of evaluating the potential need of
providing training and development to the health care professionals within the pandemic of
COVID 19. Therefore, it is a wide area of research, as the training and development is the major
considered aspect of health care business and needs suitable recognition to improvise the
operations during the outbreak of COVID 19 (Greenhalgh And et. al., 2020). However, corona is
a newly originated virus and never being known by others and needs suitable recognition to
render suitable support to the people who are facing the issue of COVID 19. Another intention of

conducting the research is personal interest of the researcher, thus the investigator wants to
explore individual knowledge in relation to the aspect of training and development.
Research Aim
The key aim of this study is “To determine the need of providing training and development
to the health care professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19”. A study on National Health
Services (NHS) UK.
Research Objectives
Research objectives are the clear and concise statement which are encompasses over the aim
of the research, thus in this variables of a research aim are separately identified to execute an
efficient exploration.
To understand the concept of training and development in the context to health care
organisations.
To articulate the need for a health care organisation to provide training and development
to their professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19.
To determine the impact of training over increasing performance of health care
professionals within the pandemic of Corona Virus.
To identify the measures that can be implement by the NHS to improvise the
performance of professionals within the situation of COVID-19.
Research Questions
What is the concept of training and development in the context to health care organisations?
What is the need for a health care organisation to provide training and development to their
professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19?
What is the impact of training over increasing performance of health care professionals
within the pandemic of Corona Virus?
What are the measures that can be implement by the NHS to improvise the performance of
professionals within the situation of COVID-19?
Research Methodology
Research methodology is one of the most imperative aspects of the research as it helps in
gathering, evaluating, analysing and interpreting the information in effective manner. In addition

to this, the suitable selection of methodology helps the entire project in right manner to generate
appropriate outcome (Greenberg And et. al., 2020). In the context to this present investigation
based on the aspect of determine the need of providing training and development to the health
care professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19, appropriate selection of methodologies are
imperative to assist the project in right manner to generate suitable outcome.
Research Approach: This part of research methodology is based on the wider assumption related
to collection of data, analysis and interpretation. In this, the informing decision should be the
philosophical assumptions that researcher brings to the study (Schuurman And et. al., 2011).
Therefore, research approach is mainly encompasses over two aspects i.e. deductive and
inductive research approach. For effective execution of this specific investigation based on the
aspect of determine the need of providing training and development to the health care
professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19, deductive research approach will be
implementing by the researcher, thus it is most suitable tool for executing quantitative evaluation
and helps in providing suitable assistance to the work via developing suitable theories and
hypothesis which are relay over the chosen subject. Furthermore, this approach is consists
hypothesis formulation and subjection for the testing during research process
Research Design: This defined as the blue print of the research, as it helps the investigator in
assisting the entire project within systematic manner to generate appropriate outcome. This
aspect of the research is based on three aspects i.e. descriptive, exploratory and experimental
research design (Cresswell, 2014). In this existing research, descriptive will be the most suitable
method for conducting detailed investigation over the aspect of determine the need of providing
training and development to the health care professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19.
However, this approach is also suitable in gathering relevant data, analysis and presentation.
With the help of using an in- depth design, researcher can provide better insights in performing
research effectively.
Research Methods: Research methods are recognised to be the primary consideration of the
researcher, thus the choice of research is based on two aspects i.e. qualitative and quantitative
research methods. In the context to this present investigation work, quantitative research will be
the most significant sources to execute descriptive evaluation as in this information will be
gathered over quantitative aspects. However, quantitative investigation is imperative in gathering
data within actual facts and figures, thus in this information will be based on statistical and

mathematical aspects (Cooper and Schindler, 2014). In addition to this, the quantitative research
is mainly concern over finding facts that are encompass over the social phenomenon.
Data Collections tools: This is the most imperative aspect of research methodology, as it
concerned with collecting, evaluating, examining and interpreting the information in suitable
manner to generate effective outcome (Mkandawire, 2019). Therefore, primary research is
executed to accumulated information which is specific to a project and is never being a
communicated before therefore in this information collection is based on different aspects like
survey, questionnaire, interview, case study and so on. On the contrary side secondary research is
a fast and easy method then primary Research and it is basically aim to gaining a broader
understanding of a subject matter. In the context to this present investigation work based on the
aspect of determine the need of providing training and development to the health care
professionals within the pandemic of COVID-19, both primary and secondary tools will be
considering by the researcher to execute the work in right manner to generate valuable outcome.
Primary research will be executed with the support of conducting survey in which questionnaire
will be developed to gather information (Tatto, 2013). On the other side, secondary research will
be conducting to enhance theoretical perspective via the support of books, journals, articles and
so on.
Research Participants: Data sampling is defined as the statistical evaluation tool which is
implemented to select, manipulate and evaluate a representative subset of the information point
to analytic patterns and trends in the larger information set being examined (Dittman,
Khoshgoftaar and Napolitano, 2015). The selection of sample is relay over two aspects i.e.
probabilistic and non-probabilistic sampling. In the context to this present investigation work,
sample will be randomly select via applying probabilistic sampling tools, thus the sample size
will be 40 as in this employee of NHS are select to gather appropriate information.
Validity and Reliability: These two are the most important aspect to be considered by the
researcher at the time of executing an investigation. The research is said to be valid as in this
suitable outcome are attained in every situation and the outcome attained via different aspects are
similar (Noble and Smith, 2015). On the other side, the research is also said to be reliable as in
this information are gathered from the authentic sources which support the outcome of the work
in appropriate manner.

Data Analysis: Data analysis mainly refers as a procedure of cleaning, transforming, and
modelling information to analyse appropriate data for business decision-making. For considering
the present investigation, thematic analysis will be considering to execute suitable analysis as in
this themes will be developed over the questions of questionnaire (Bendat and Piersol, 2011). In
addition to this the presentation of the information will be conducted via the help of designing
frequency table and create charts, graphs, and diagrams.
