Wellbeing can be defied as state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. Wellbeing of
an individual is extremely important to be focused upon as it helps in leading a high- quality
healthy lifestyle (Lelliott and et. al., 2008). Wellbeing help in ensuring that an individual is
mentally and physically healthy. Wellbeing can help an organization in ensuring that their
employees are physically and mentally healthy and are enjoying their job which eventually help
in enhancement of efficiency at workplace. This essay will lay emphasis upon importance of
wellbeing and ways in which it can benefit professionals in the workplace and organisations.

Overview of wellbeing and its importance
Wellness or wellbeing is one of the most important and fundamental factors of health that
helps an individual to enhance and maintain their high quality of life and provide them strength
and motivation so that they can overcome any kind of difficulties and achieve what they want in
life. Wellbeing plays a vital and important role within an individual’s life. Personal wellbeing of
a person is directly related to their learning capacity. It can help a person in resolving different
range of learning problem, mental health related problems which eventually would have helped
in develop interest of individual in learning. It further helps a person in enhancing their social
life, participate in group or social activities actively. According to Hodgins, Fleming and
Griffiths, (2016) if a person focuses upon remaining healthy and maintaining their wellbeing
then it can help them in tackling with stress, anxiety, emotional trauma etc.

At workplace wellbeing plays a vital and important role. First and the foremost thing, it
helps in maintaining a positive working environment and help employees in working actively. It
is important for organizations to focus upon maintaining wellbeing of employees because it

and give importance to enhance mental health of employees at workplace. Managers in an
organization encourage employees to take mental health days off, it means that if workers are not
feeling well then they should be given break or holiday so that they can take rest (Aryan and
Kathuria, 2017). It is responsibility of managers to take care of employees health and motivate
them to work effectively.

help them. For an organization it is important that all employees stay safe and healthy as it will
help in building good image in market. Managers should treat workers like family member and
ask them if they are alright or not, they want anything or they need any help from them. If

confidentiality in an organization because sometimes employees feel uncomfortable in sharing
their problem in front of other members. Managers should assure employees that they can share
their problem privately and that information will be confidential. This will help in creating good

in such a way that it helps in creating healthy culture in organization. It has been noticed that
employees work efficiently, productivity increases when employees get good working
