Research Problem:
As per the study of Mirjalili & Lewis (2016) the rapid growth of technology and the
increased application of Meta-heuristic optimization algorithm it is very prominent that in
engineering operations the above identified algorithm is very effective due to its simple theory
and easy installation process. Along with this the nominated algorithm does not demands for
large set of data to perform any task the algorithm is capable of performing with very selective
range of data. Followed by these identifications in this paper a new optimization algorithm has
been proposed which is highly inspired be the operations of Meta-heuristic optimization
algorithm. As it is identified from the previous research that these research methods are very
much capable of the solving any problem with very less data thus, it can be stated that adoption
of this concept into the approached algorithm will help to enhance the effectiveness of proposed
algorithm.
Proposed Solution:
Followed by a thorough analysis of the selected research paper it is identified that the
researcher has initially stated the proposed method. While analyzing this it is noticed that the
researcher has proposed for Whale Optimization Algorithm by taken the inspiration from the
whales. Followed by these identifications it is noticed that the primary reason behind the
selection of Whale because of its biggest structure and the selected mammals consists of 7
categories which includes the humpback, right, Minke, killer, Sei, Blue, as well as finback.
Along with these the researcher has also mentioned that the whales takes the breath from the
surface of the ocean, for this reason they never sleep. Making allowance to this concern it is
noticed that there are several similarities present between humans and the whales as both of these
creations consists of the spindle cells which are very much responsible for their social behavior.

Followed by these identifications in this paper the researcher has primarily focused in the nature
of Humpback whale due to the special chasing nature of the whale.
Followed by the above identification the researcher has effectively proposed a
mathematical model in which it has discussed about the encircling prey, search for prey and the
bubble net feeding maneuver. Considering the above identified aspects while elaborating the
encircling prey concept it is noticed that these types of whale has the capabilities to identify the
location of the prey and surrounding them. Making allowance to this observation it is noticed
that in the approached Whale optimization algorithm it will first the target the prey and then it
will try to update the position towards the prey. Along with these identification it is noticed that
the search agent will focus on the identification of the nearest best prey and then it will gradually
try to update the hunting position.
Along this the elaboration of the above mentioned aspects it is noticed that the researcher
has also focused on the discussion of Bubble net attacking method in which the Mirjalili &
Lewis (2016) has clearly mentioned that according to behavior of the Humpback whale the
nature of hunting is of two types which includes the shrinking encircling method and spiral
updating position. Followed by these identifications it is noticed that shrinking encircling method
stands for the behavior of the whale that chases a prey. Similarly the spiral method stands for the
approach in which the whale will reach the position of the prey by calculating the distance
between the whale and the target.
Along with the identification of the above mentioned aspects it is noticed that the
researcher has effectively evaluated the concept of search for prey and then stated that vector A
could be utilized for searching the prey. Followed by these identifications it is also mentioned
that the whale will spot the position of the prey by chasing the random position value of the prey.
