LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme 1: understand the concept of gender, divide in leadership
As per the view Falk and Hermle, (2018) gender inequality can be taken as that men and
women are not provided with equal rights and opportunities in the organization. This has the
most significant impact on the growth of organization. It has been analysed that if leaders of
organization are being engaged in dividing the gender, the firm’s environment will become
negative and also they will lose most of their skilled and talented staff. This can enhance the
problems in organization and also the firm will lose their productivity as well as managerial
efficiency.
Theme 2: To evaluate the impact of low gender, divide in leadership over performance of
employees with respect to Primark
In accordance with Polcuch, Brooks and Bello, (2018) gender divide in leadership has
huge negative impact on the efficiency and productivity of firm. If inequality exists in Primark
than employee’s morale and motivation will be reduced. They will not be able to perform better
and this will lead to company losing its most prominent leader. It will also reduce the skill and
abilities of employees and this can lead to an increase in employee turnover in Primark. It can
also affect the growth of firm negatively.
Theme 3: analyse the challenges being faced by Primark in managing gender divide for
promotion of equality and diversity
In the opinion of Verloo, (2018) there will be various challenges which can be faced by
Primark when they are trying to reduce the gender inequality and also promoting the diverse
culture. In this the firm can face challenge like manager needs to have right perspective and
feelings towards providing equal rights to all employees in the organization. The other challenge
which can be faced in managing diverse leaders and managers in Primark is language barriers. In
order to overcome the employer can make use of gestures for communicating.
Theme 4: To recommend some of the strategies for fostering equality and diversity at
workplace
In the view point of Alon and et.al., (2020) it has been recommended that firm needs to be
engaged in making policies related to equality and diversity. This will assist them in achieving
the goals and objectives. It will also help the organization in retaining employees which will be
necessary for their growth. They can also provide training to workers so that they can adjust in
changing and diverse environment. This will assist the organization in boosting their
productivity.
