Many people travel for the purpose of pleasure and some forbusiness. To successfully evaluate these functions it is related to that travel and tourism isconducted without providing any harm to the environmental and natural ecosystem of anyparticular area. People travel to various tourist destination for enjoyment purpose and for holidaymoreover, there visit is subjected to harm the natural and social-environment of the place. Withthe increase in the population there is a growth in pollution rate and increase in disturbance to theenvironment. The present study is conducted on the national parks of UK and to promote thesustainable tourism development in the country. The government is also functioning to providesupport in developing the tourism and to make the country powerful and remarkable. To increasethe sustainable tourism development it is required to know the impact of tourism in the countryand increasing the interest of tourist in visiting the national parks in UK. It is forming as an industry which in the present scenario isthe main element for raising economy in both developed and developing nations. It is free toutilise free natural and cultural resources for development and to promote tourism and attractvisitors. Its impact create the opportunity for enhancing employment, and positively forms theredistribution of wealth and increase the economies. There is a need of balance and negotiationin these objectives to compete and provide opportunities for wider development. This research ismainly focused on understanding the needs of sustainable tourism development and promotingthe National parks of UK. These areas are protected under the Sustainable Tourism Initiative(STI) that encourages people for supporting in protecting the parks and developing awareness forincreasing the interest of local and national tourist. It also focuses to protect the environment forfuture as in tourism the main cause of providing harm to environment is through the emissionscoming from transportation. This study focuses to increase the awareness to utilise the localtransportation and help in generating sustainable tourism and protecting the natural environmentfor future generation.1.3 Undertake critical review Literature reviewThe concept and importance of sustainable tourism development STDAccording to the Liburd and Edwards, (2010), the concept of sustainable tourismdevelopment focus on low effect on the local culture and environment and assist in generating2
employment and income. Further it also provides a proper concept for the improvement ofecotourism initiatives. Sustainable Tourism include a strong commitment toward the nature,social responsibility and the integration of local people on a tourist operation. Further thesustainability development approach can be applied at any aspect of tourism development. Asbecause sustainability is depended on the way the planning is undertaken related to preventingthe society, economy and environment and the effectiveness of plan and implementation.. As perthe view of Nicholas and Thapa, (2010), environment sustainability tourism assist in creatingless impact on natural resources, particularly in protected area. It leads to reduce damage to theenvironment such as habitats, water living, flora etc. Basically it helps in providing benefit to theenvironment. Further sustainable development assist in keeping safe social and culture. Iitprevent from the harm to the culture of the community and social structure. Along with this italso respects different types of culture and traditions. For its planning there are different types ofstakeholders are involved in it such as tour operator, government, communities etc. As per theview of Stoddard, Pollard and Evans, (2012), explained that sustainable development assist ineconomic development. Further it helps in providing employment and generate the nationalincome. Along with this, it provides benefits to the employees, neighbours and owners. There aremany contexts which indicate that tourism is not a smokeless industry. Author suggested thatnational park of UK is not managed effectively then it leads to lower the demand of tourism.Many time's tourism provide such accused of destruction which is done by them. As becausethere are many times visitors are destroyed the destination by their own. It is basically done withthe national park destination which is highly resources sensitive. In order to reduce the negativeimpact and increase the opportunity it is important to planned and managed effectively thetourism activity (Stanford and Guiver, 2016). There is increase in demand of the sustainabletourism from the side of people who like to enjoy adventure travel, nature tourism andecotourism. The impact of sustainable tourism development STD on growth of National Park of UK.Over the last years, tourism has evolved and has become one of the most powerful andimportant factor for increasing the economical condition for the country. The development ofsustainable tourism has impacted in the growth of National parks in Uk, as they areunderstanding the need to protect the parks and open it for the tourism practices. The tourismindustry has matured over years and is being increasing the interest of different class of people3
and attracting them to enjoy and to spend their quality time and increase sustainability oftourism. The National parks are increasing the interest of people to come and enjoy and have adeep satisfaction in the natural environment by protecting the rights of individual and enhancingsustainable tourism development. The national park of UK tourism has some positive impact onthe environment in different ways such as it lead to increase the awareness related to theconservation of the resources and enhance the environmental friendly activity(Hall, Gossling andScott, 2015). Along with this, visitor income also contributes to improve the national parkresources and used in conservation project. Contribution provided by direct visitor have somesignificant benefits that it provide alternative source of income in order to meet the fundingrequirement for the new project which is related to the conservation of resources andmaintenance of national park.The effectiveness of promoting a sustainable tourism development in the National Park of UKThe sustainable tourism development has been promoted with a positive impact on theNational Park of UK and increased the economic condition of the country and also employmentratio in the country. Promoting sustainable tourism creates a bond between economic conditionsand development of countries positive cultural activities. It also motivates people to protect thesocio-cultural environment. The main reason for promoting the tourism is to benefit theeconomy. For this purpose the UK association of National Park presented all its benefits on theirwebsites as because increase in tourism is one of the best source of generating income.Therefore, the economic benefits lead to increase in employment and growth and development ofindustrial area(Murphy, 2014). The effectiveness of promoting sustainable tourism developmenthelps in increasing the economy and also develop strategies to increase the national economy anddevelop the strong relation between tourism and other factors that promotes economicenhancement like manufacturing. 1.4 Research methodology This section of research methodology can be state as one of the most important section ofthe research. The reason behind the importance of the research is that it helps an individual tounderstand and focus on the various tools and techniques that are helpful in achieving the aimand objectives of the study.
