Title: Challenges faced while managing cultural diversity in the workplace.
LITERATURE REVIEW
It is referring to the important section of undertaking research activities because it provides
theoretical framework in which research gather data from different sources. With the assistance
of this, researcher can take right decision within the investigation. Furthermore, literature review
is also assist investigator to address specified issue of investigation. Basically, it includes various
sources by which researcher gather detailed data such as books, journals, articles, magazines,
online articles and many more. All these are assist in gathering reliable results at the end of the
investigation. In the literature review part, there has been explanation regarding issues of cultural
diversity like employee performance. The cultural diversity mainly impacts ability of staff
members to develop teams. The age differences in correlation coefficient such that the old people
showed more correlation among the cultural and personal values than did the younger
employees.
Concept of cultural diversity at workplace
According to Taylor, (2014), cultural diversity includes as a quality of diverse in which
different background of people are there. Along with this, difference can be based on age,
gender, culture, social status and many more. Basically, it is also known as multiculturalism is a
group of diverse people who are from different culture or societies. In context of business
organisation, it is one of the important aspect in which different employees are includes who
belongs to diverse culture, language, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, and ethnicity. As
per current scenario, business organization recruit people from different area and culture in order
to make their workforce more productive. Mostly businesses are operating their activities at
global level so that it requires to include or hire candidates from different culture. It directly
increases the number of diverse workforce that assist in creating innovation within the company.
In addition to this, manager of business organization is also responsible for managing diverse
culture at working area in order to increase proficiency level of company and its workers as well.
This will directly contribute in increasing profitability of business at market place and at the
same time also established its productive image.

According to Potochny, (2020), managing diverse culture is one of the important activity
for company as it helps in improving employee performance at working area. This is because
diverse culture may provide assistance to workers in understanding and respect each other’s and
at the same time also get along in the workplace. In this, manager of the company also provide
assistance in exchanging relationship with others in order to develop a positive and healthy
working environment wherein each and every employee give their best efforts for attaining their
common target. In relation to this, there are some benefits that company would gain by managing
culture diversity are as follows:
Increase creativity: Diverse culture at workplace is also increase creativity between team
and also improve ability to include more diverse set of solution to specific issue. Along with this,
diverse employee at working area also give innovative ways to resolve issues that arise within
the company. With the assistance of this, company can easily increase its productivity level and
also attain success at market place.
Increase profitability level: Cultural diversity at working area can also lead to greater profit
within the company as diversified workforce able in executing their task activities along with
higher efficiency at working area. This will assist in increasing reputation of company by
enhancing its sales and profitability level as well.
Improve employee engagement: When different workers are executing their business
activities in a team then they share their views and opinion with others. This can be assist in
increasing employee engagement and at the same time they also built a trusting relationship with
their colleagues.
Reduce employee turnover: Company that embrace cultural diversity at working area
would assist a wider pool of candidates for job vacancies. By recruiting skilled and talented
workers from different culture aid in improving overall performance level of employees. This
can be reducing the employee turnover of business at market place.

culture are perform their business activities. As it creates issues in managing diversity at working
area and at the same time also put negative impact over the productivity level of company. In this

context, there are some different issues and challenges that faced by company at the time of
managing cultural diversity at working area. This can be understood by following points:
Communication issues: Due to diverse culture, one of the major issue that employee face
issues of communication as it may create negative impact over the relationship of worker.
This can be reducing performance level of workers and also create issues among them.
This is the reason that company face issue in managing diversity at working area.
Too many opinion: With the different background and experiences have various ways of
approaching the same scenario and at the same time also give their efforts for
accomplishing their targets. Every employee has different ways to execute their task
activities as it drives innovative ideas but at the same time also increase the possibilities
of creating issues among workers. This will put negative impact over the business and its
profitability and overall performance as well.
Retain bad talent: Diverse culture include diverse workforce who works for business
organization and bur they are not being able to attainment of their set goals and
objectives in an appropriate way. Poor performer at working area may also reduce
productivity of company. This will put negative impact over the organizational
performance at market place.

collection methods (Domple, 2019). In the present research, there has been primary method used
by creating questionnaire. Different aspects considered in conducting an investigation given
below:
Cost- It plays necessary role while undertaking an investigation. In this, sufficient amount
of the capital is necessary for performing as well as implementing research related activities
effectively. If the cost is not sufficient to conducting the information, then this arise the issues
and not getting the positive outcomes. It is responsibility of an investigator is to managing or
arranging the funds as per research activities for getting the positive outcomes significantly. The
cost considered in research project is related to travelling, stationery, internet charges and others
(Flick, 2020).

Access- It is main source that assist an investigator in collecting the information and data
from chosen respondents directly. For collection of information, there should be the proper
access to an investigator from the customers because they used the products and services more
and also give the suggestion about bring the better opportunities to company. It is ethical way to
take the access about information collection and getting the positive outcomes (Grace and et. al.,
2020).
Ethical consideration- It is one of the main part in research and researcher should follow
all the ethical guidelines while conducting an investigation effectively. The participants involved
in research should not subjected to be harm in the other ways. In regards to this, respect for
dignity of research participants should be on the priority. In regards to this, prior to study, full
consent should obtained from participants. Other than this, there are different ethical principles
consist to researcher while conducting research such as informed consent, accountability,
anonymity, confidentiality, risk of harm and others (Higashiand et. al., 2020). On the other hand,
there are several companies dedicated to promoting the ethics in scientific investigation. The
ethics is not afterthought to research study. This is integral aspect of an investigation that
requires to remain at forefront of work.

Data analysis is necessary part of an investigation. This summarise the gathered data and
information. This mainly consists interpretation of the collected data by use of logical and
analytical reasoning to identify relationships and trends (Hirschhorn, 2019). For analysis of data,
there has been thematic analysis method used as there has been different themes developed and
make the graphs by using MS-Excel.
