workplace discrimination. A study on McDonald.
INTRODUCTION
Overview of research
In majority of organisation, employees productivity is one of the core aspect as it is
directly related with their satisfaction and motivation level. To this regards, the term equality and
diversity play a vital role because it encourage organisation to generate positive working culture
by ignoring the fact of bias behaviour (Badran and Khalifa, 2016). However, the term equality
means to ensure that each and every workers should be treated in equal manner while diversity is
refers to acceptance to employees who belongs to different region, culture, religion, language
and age groups. The foremost benefit that a company can obtain by managing equality and
diversity is that it enable them to reduce the workplace discrimination and at the same make
employees more productive. With the assistance of this, company can reduce employee turnover
and improve its performance as well. Current research is based on McDonald, is a famous
American fast food company operate their business in over the world with the aim of attaining
their set market targets. Company was founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald for
generating larger profitability at market place. Mainly, organisation focus on developing positive
and healthy working environment wherein every employees treated equally and also get equal
opportunities. By this, they can easily improve their performance level and at the same time also
may enhance their productivity. For attaining the same, company tries to managing equality and
diversity at workplace in order to eliminated the chances of discrimination. This will assist in
improving positive image of company and also keep loyal and retain employees for longer period
of time.

Rationale of research project
The main reason behind selecting this study is to effectively analysis the role of
managing equality and diversity with the aim of reducing the workplace discrimination. In
execution of business organisation, workplace discrimination is consider as a major issue that
faced by company and its workers and also put their negative impact on workers performance
(Oswick and Noon, 2014). With the help of this investigation, researcher also improve their
skills and knowledge about workplace discrimination and its negative impact over the company.
Furthermore, another reason for selecting this topic is to improve their professional career and at
the same time also increase the chances of attaining best possible outcomes.
