RESEARCH PROPOSAL
INTRODUCTION
Talent management is the commitment of the company to recruit, create, hire and bear
the most talented and superior workers acquirable in the job marketplace so company can take
competitive advantages in the market and show their presence as a brand. This term is used to
describe when organizational loyalty to succeed, hire and bear Talented workers.
This report will take Hotel Four seasons to conduct this research project. This hotels
provide luxury hospitality services and their headquarter is in Landon, England. This hotel was
reopened in 2010 after an expensive two years redevelopment costing an estimated 125 million.
This report will produce research proposal on the Talent management in Four seasons
hotel and define the research questions and support by the literature review. It will examine
searches and methods in this project and briefly how this researches helps to provide useful
information. This report will analyse and conduct research which are relevant to a hospitality
research project. It will communicate the outcome of This project to identify stakeholders. This
report will provide reflection on the method used by the researcher for this business project and
how this research project help them to meet objectives. In the end of this report will analyse
alternative research methodology and lesson learned in view of the outcomes.

Background of Research:
Aim:
“To analyse effectiveness of talent management in order to raise productivity and enhancing
business organization success. - A case study on Four seasons hotel”
Objectives:
To determine the conceptual framework of talent management as an strategic approach.
To analyse and identify relationship between talent management and operational
efficiency.
To analyse benefits of managing talent in business to improve Four Seasons hotel
productivity.

To examine the role of leaders and managers of the Four season Hotel in managing
talent.
To assess new and innovative ways of working to accomplish a strategic approach to
talent management.
Research questions:
What is the relationship between talent management and operational efficiency?
What are the benefits of managing talent in the business?
What are the role of leaders and managers in managing talent within organization ?
Research methodology:
Research methodology is the particular activity or the techniques to select, process and
identify and analyse data about the topic (Collings, Scullion and Caligiuri., 2018). This will
help know to analyse the importance of talent methodology.
Research type: qualitative and quantitative
There are two types to researches, qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative research
methods focus on meaning and words while the quantitative method focus on the statistics and
numericals. This report will choose qualitative method to conduct this research project.
Research approach: Deductive and inductive
There are plans which helps to collect the data, analyse and interpretation of the data.
There are two kinds of approaches which are Deductive and inductive. Descriptive research
gather information without controlling any variables, while inductive approach concerned with
theories to collect data and their aim is to generate fresh theory settled information. This project
will choose inductive method.
Research strategy: Descriptive
Research strategy is the systematic plan which provide directions to the thoughts and
enable writer to doing research. Descriptive method is type of research strategy which is
utilised to describe characteristics of the population which being studied.
Data collection: Primary and secondary
There are two type of information collection which are primary and secondary method.
In the primary method data researchers collect data from first had sourced while secondary

researchers' information refers to the data collected by someone else other than the user (Wiek
and Lang., 2016). This report will choose primary data collection method.
Sampling: Random sampling- 30 employees
Sampling is the procedure which is used in the statistical analyses in which a preset
numbers of observations are interpreted from the bigger group population. This report will use
random sampling method and select 30 employees to conduct this research project.
Literature review:
Literature review is the study of the other secondary sources such as articles, theses and
books which is related to a specific topic or the research questions.

P2- Research methods and approaches to primary and secondary research.
There are two kind to researches methods which are used by researchers, qualitative and
quantitative (Abutabenjeh and Jaradat., 2018). Qualitative research methods focus on meaning
and words while the quantitative method focus on the statistics and numericals. This both
research methods will help researchers to complete this project on the Talent engagement on
Hotel Four seasons-
Qualitative researches
Qualitative researches are defined as a research methods which totally focus on
obtaining informative data from the open-ended colloquial communication. This method is not
just about what people believe about but it is also about why people believe. Interviews are the
speech based research where questions are used to ask to get info from the others. Interviews are
atypically structured to meet the researchers objectives.
Proes - Qualitative approaches to investigation are not bound by the limitations of quantitative
methods. If participants don’t fit the researcher’s belief that’s equally helpful qualitative data to
add context and possibly explain something which Numbers alone are ineffectual to show.
Cons- size of the sample can be a big issue for the researcher (Ardrey and et.al., 2016). If
researcher seek to reason from sample of , for example 200 employees which are based on
sample of the only 5 workers . This will rise the question of the researchers that will this
method will provide true abjuration of position of the remaining 97 percent of the company.
Quantitative method
Quantitative researches utilize computational, mathematical and statistical to produce the
right result. This methods create a decisiveness to the purpose to state studied as it quantified
difficulty to realism how prevailing they are (Ardrey and et.al., 2016).
Pros- Qualitative researches involves survey , real time gathering, experiments. There are few
delays in the collection of the data and metrical to examine the researches. This means
